Byelection
"Once an MP gives notice to the Speaker of the House of Commons that they've resigned their seat, the Speaker has to notify the chief electoral officer that a seat is vacant. Once that notice has been given the government would have 11 to 180 days to call a byelection." ie we can't post date ranges until we know the date the CEO is officially informed. It might be today, it might be tomorrow, it might not be until the end of the week. Watch the Elections Canada site for an announcement. Wellington Bay (talk) 22:30, 2 February 2026 (UTC)
