Wikipedia's technical logs indicate that this user account has been or may be used abusively. It has been blocked indefinitely from editing to prevent abuse.

Note that multiple accounts are allowed, but not for illegitimate reasons, and any contributions made while evading blocks or bans may be reverted or deleted.
If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you should review the guide to appealing blocks, and then appeal your block by adding the following text below this notice: {{unblock|Your reason here ~~~~}}. Note that anything you post in your unblock request will be public, so you may alternatively use the Unblock Ticket Request System to submit an appeal if it contains information that must be private.

Administrators: Checkusers have access to confidential system logs not accessible by the public or by administrators due to the Wikimedia Foundation's privacy policy. You must not loosen or remove this block, or issue an IP block exemption, without consulting with a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee. Administrators who undo checkuser blocks without permission from a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee may be summarily desysopped.

Request reason:

I am not related to any blocked user and I am very surpised being suddenly blocked. I have made major contributions to variety of topics in Wikipedia and if I can recall have not engaged in sort of disruptive editing or sockpuppetry. I believe I have been blocked due to some misunderstanding. So, I request to have a discussion regarding this.

Decline reason:

Checkuser verified abuser of multiple accounts. --jpgordon𝄢𝄆𝄐𝄇 05:11, 27 February 2026 (UTC)

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Request reason:

I deeply apologise for what happened deeply for my previous infractions which resulted in my previous account being banned and also for sockpuppeting. I sincerely thought that as long as I did not engage in rule breaking editing that resulted in my previous account to be blocked, I thought it would be fine with this account as long as I followed the editing etiquette.

When I continued to use this account, I understood my mistakes that have resulted in me being blocked and I have been careful in making my contributions for five years. I wanted to make sincere contributions to Wikipedia, and I understood the copyright and plagiarism issues that resulted in my previous account to be banned. It’s through this realisation that I have made significant contributions in this account, including in DYK and earning autopatrolling rights. I feel mentally anguished to see some of my five year of contributions being gone. I request to please give me one last chance considering the contributions I have made using this account. I deeply regret for what happened before and I promise I will always engage in good editing.

Decline reason:

You need to request unblock from your original account, and you'll need to explain why you explicitly denied having used other accounts. None of this is likely to succeed without a six month wait(the standard offer). 331dot (talk) 12:57, 27 February 2026 (UTC)

331dot has denied this request already, but I'm willing to entertain it. That's much better than the earlier denial, and it's true that you've been editing for quite a while without apparent incident. I'm going to ask some copyright patrollers to have a look at your contributions and we can go from there. -- asilvering (talk) 14:08, 27 February 2026 (UTC)
@asilvering Could you update what is the progress regarding the investigation and what to expect next? As I stated previously, I deeply regret and apologise for my previous actions and I have learnt my lessons from it. I want to do my best to sincerely contribute to Wikipedia and I have edited with this account without any incidents. I hope you can give me one last chance and I pledge with all my heart to not engage in any disruptive form of editing. - Toadboy123 22:28, 01 March 2026 (UTC)
@asilvering Awaiting for your response. - Toadboy123 11:59, 03 March 2026 (UTC)
@MCE89, tagging you in since you opened up the CCI at Wikipedia:Contributor copyright investigations/Books Nash. @Toadboy123, the impression I've received is that there were some copyright issues in your earlier contributions, but that you've stopped making them in more recent years. So one way forward here would be for you to help pitch in with the cleanup. I see @Tenshi Hinanawi has also been involved in this one so far - any input from you two? -- asilvering (talk) 19:17, 4 March 2026 (UTC)
@Asilvering How can I engage in cleanup? Considering I am blocked from editing, could you guide me on how to do it? Toadboy123 (talk) 12:25, 6 March 2026 (UTC)
(Non-administrator comment) What would be helpful to start with is for you to tell us anything you can about your process for writing articles, particularly around 2020-2022 (I totally understand that that's a while ago now, so no worries if you don't completely remember!). This is just to help us know what to look out for when checking your articles and cleaning up any remaining copyright violations.
  • It looked to me like you often translated content into your articles from non-English language websites until sometime around 2022, and that after that you stopped copying / translating from other sources. Does that sound about right to you?
  • Do you remember which websites / sources you translated content from, and whether you ever added content from books or other offline sources? Did you ever translate or copy text into your articles from other Wikipedia articles (either from here on en.wiki or from another project)?
If you're unblocked, it would definitely also be great to have your help with cleaning up your old articles. Someone else will still need to tick off each article once they've checked it, but you could help by going through your old articles and remove anything that is copied/translated or not verified by the source, and then leaving a comment to let us know that you’ve done that. Is that something you’d be open to helping with? MCE89 (talk) 13:05, 6 March 2026 (UTC)
I will try my best to answer the queries you raised.
1: During that time period, I was mostly focused on Russian/Soviet military and political articles. So often I engaged in retrieving information from article by using machine translated Russian sources. However, after that time period, I was focused on Chinese celeb, political and military articles so I engaged in adding translated content from Chinese websites and articles.
2: For Russian articles, my sources were warheroes.ru and pamyat-naroda.ru, as these were considered real good sources for information on Russian and Soviet military people. These were also used in Russian Wikipedia articles too. For Chinese, I sometimes directly added translation from Chinese Wikipedia articles and websites such as Sohu, Sina, iFeng, etc. I used Google Books by searching keywords on the topic of the article to get further information on the subject.
Please let me know if I should provide any further information. I really want to contribute in good faith in Wikipedia. Toadboy123 (talk) 13:36, 9 March 2026 (UTC)
Would you be willing to help out with cleaning up your old articles? -- asilvering (talk) 19:11, 9 March 2026 (UTC)
I am willing to do so. But I need guidance on how to do it considering I am blocked and on how to engage in cleanup. Is it for articles that I have edited till 2022? Toadboy123 (talk) 04:48, 10 March 2026 (UTC)
You wouldn't be doing it while blocked, you'd be doing it after an unblock, as part of an unblock condition. -- asilvering (talk) 10:34, 10 March 2026 (UTC)
Could you state what is the unblock condition? I want to state again that I am willing to engage in cleanup immediately, and that I want to contribute in good faith and without engaging in disruptive behaviour in Wikipedia. From my heart, I deeply apologize for my actions that resulted in the block and I am willing to do my best to contribute to the proper editing experience in Wikipedia. I have contributed for five years without any major incidents and also earned autopatrol rights. So, please consider my request and I promise I will stay true to my words. Toadboy123 (talk) 13:16, 10 March 2026 (UTC)
Great. I'll unblock so that you can get to that. Please ask a WP:CCI clerk if you need help understanding what to do. -- asilvering (talk) 04:10, 12 March 2026 (UTC)
Apologies that it took me a bit to respond, I only got around to the rest of this today. I see that you've unblocked already, though I'll affirm that beyond sending Liannan Yao Autonomous County to CP because I'm not sure it is fully limited text or not, their recent contribs seem okay. Like asilvering said, if you need help with what to do, you can either ask myself, MCE89, or any one of the other clerks listed here, as well as the admin patrollers lower down that page. That being said, please note that you shouldn't tick off any of the pages on your CCI page (though you're free to make notes on it, etc.), so that they can be verified by someone else. Tenshi! (Talk page) 22:48, 12 March 2026 (UTC)
Could you guide me on how to conduct the cleanup? Is it by checking my edits featured in Wikipedia:Contributor copyright investigations/Books Nash and then stating on the side of the article as a note stating if there any violations as such? Please give me a small briefing on how to do so. Toadboy123 (talk) 00:01, 13 March 2026 (UTC)
It's probably best to stick to rewriting any violations that you see and noting that you've rewritten the material. I've asked about this to others involved in copyright and the one response I was given was that you should not note whether there are violations or not. As for rewriting, see WP:FIXCLOSEPARA. Tenshi!
