Pacoa jara jockey ages
I'm writing a section on pacoa jara in your sandbox on Indonesian horse racing, however I can't find a consensus on how old pacoa jara jockeys usually are. All of my three sources I've used are different: one says from five to ten, one says from six to eight, and one says from ten to twelve. Could you help clear this up for me? Thanks :) Hexes54 (talk) 11:31, 24 November 2025 (UTC)
- It's pretty much a grey area. One source that I argue as quite reliable mentions that the age ranges from five to twelve. But, just to be sure, they are minors, usually under twelve. Udaradingin (talk) 12:10, 24 November 2025 (UTC)
- I went with a source that said the average age was around ten, which is more vague than I'd like it to be but I'll have to settle for it because it's not something that's set in stone. Hexes54 (talk) 12:15, 24 November 2025 (UTC)
- Btw do you think it would be a good idea to make a separate page for pacoa jara? Udaradingin (talk) 12:24, 24 November 2025 (UTC)
- If you can find more info on its history, that could be merged with what I've written in the sandbox into a separate article. I checked the page for Sumbawa and it doesn't mention it anywhere there so it could be best to create an article for it. Hexes54 (talk) 12:27, 24 November 2025 (UTC)
- I think the Indonesian page would help as a basis for the article:) Udaradingin (talk) 12:31, 24 November 2025 (UTC)
- I'll have a look and maybe translate some parts and add my own writing. Once I've created the draft I'll send it here so you can contribute :) Hexes54 (talk) 12:33, 24 November 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks for contributing:D We only have a very small amount of contributors for horse racing in Indonesia (which arguably can be counted by finger), so any help is appreciated! Udaradingin (talk) 12:39, 24 November 2025 (UTC)
- I've created the draft here. However, the first source in the Indonesian article isn't working for me so I'll need to find a new source for the Intangible Cultural Heritage list. Any help on the draft is appreciated :) Hexes54 (talk) 12:43, 24 November 2025 (UTC)
- Found this article about a recent scandal of a horse racing event in Dompu Regency, Sumbawa. Do you think we should put this in the draft bc it talks about "Traditional Horse Racing Event in Dompu", or is it irrelevant since the word "pacoa jara" isn't explicitly mentioned? Udaradingin (talk) 13:10, 24 November 2025 (UTC)
- The phrase "traditional horse racing" in a place in Sumbawa definitely makes me think of pacoa jara. However, I can't translate the article for some reason, but I do still think it's referring to pacoa jara even if it isn't explicitly stated. I think it could be worth adding depending on what's in the article. Hexes54 (talk) 13:13, 24 November 2025 (UTC)
- I found a new source from iPusnas about these races. This one mainly talks about the one practiced by the Sumbawans (different to the Bimanese, but closely related). It's a compilation of editorials/articles made by Tempo, so I figure this counts as a good source. I'll put in another one in the future if I can find more of these:)

Fix grammar
@Hexes54 Can I ask for your help for a moment? can you fix the grammar in the Udaradingin sandbox? , specifically in the section Based on Age? please... :) Rain (talk) 12:00, 24 November 2025 (UTC)
- Of course! I've seen other people speaking Indonesian to each other while I've been helping with the project so I'm assuming English isn't a first language. I'm happy to help with anything you need relating to the English language, don't be afraid to ask again in future if you need to :) Hexes54 (talk) 12:02, 24 November 2025 (UTC)
Prince Loupan
Good morning (at least it's morning here haha), I was wondering if you'd be able to help me with my draft I've just created on Prince Loupan. I've been able to create a good intro paragraph but I've been struggling to find sources about his racing career outside of the Merdeka Cup. Any help would be appreciated :) Hexes54 (talk) 10:05, 25 November 2025 (UTC)

For the pedigree is still unknown, So far Prince Loupan's sire is King Loupan while his dam is Sandel (local horse). His breed is G1 Rain (talk) 11:00, 25 November 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you, I'll fill these in soon :) Hexes54 (talk) 11:06, 25 November 2025 (UTC)
- I'll search first, maybe Prince Loupan has ever raced other than that.
I forgot something, you can check Prince Loupan is so chaos when he races and also when he is being trained.
The stable groom said he often knock over his jockey when he was being trained (it's so funny lol).Rain (talk) 11:10, 25 November 2025 (UTC)
