Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia, especially for the efforts to clean up the GPS article. One small note, for future reference: when you make a change to an article, please remember to provide an edit summary for your edits. Doing so helps other users reading the edit history of the page, as well as preventing possible misunderstandings as to the nature of your edits. Thank you again. A discussion

Hi, someone should have notified you before but didn't. Please see Wikipedia:Coin#Wialon, it would be useful if you could comment. Thanks Smartse (talk) 13:37, 16 July 2010 (UTC)

thank you for notifying, i'll give my comments. UrusHyby (talk) 13:42, 16 July 2010 (UTC)

Make sure you understand what you are talking about. The best and most reliable references to the products or technologies are actually the homepage of the product. Most of the links in the GPS software are opensource products, and in fact the source and the pages are peer reviewed. Raysonho (talk) 00:19, 17 July 2010 (UTC)

Whoa. The best sources for our articles are independent sources, not the product page of the manufacturer that's being discussed. Dawnseeker2000 00:48, 18 July 2010 (UTC)
I think the NPOV applies to other areas, but a technical site does not have a POV. The independent sources mostly copy the technical spec. from the manufacturers homepage. Show me an independent source's page about a product that is more NPOV & correct than the manufacturer's site. Raysonho (talk) 01:22, 18 July 2010 (UTC)
We are not talking about a neutral-point-of-view issue here. NPOV is something separate from what I'm referring to. Independent sources are of higher value when added to any area of Wikipedia - technical, social, or whatever. We'd much rather have a secondary source in all circumstances of adding content. It's clear to me, and it seems pretty clear to UrusHyby. I always use secondary sources and I'd like to encourage you to also. Dawnseeker2000 01:52, 18 July 2010 (UTC)
Generally references are needed in case if "Statements of opinion or materials challenged or likely to be challenged". Wikipedia:Verifiability so, there's no need of adding three commercial links to just one obvious sentence in an article GPS tracking unit, where already non-commercial ref. exists. And Dawnseeker2000 is absolutely right about sources policy of Wikipedia.UrusHyby (talk) 10:32, 19 July 2010 (UTC)

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. Users who edit disruptively or refuse to collaborate with others may be blocked if they continue. In particular the three-revert rule states that making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24-hour period is almost always grounds for an immediate block. If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the talk page to discuss controversial changes. Work towards wording and content that gains consensus among editors. If unsuccessful then do not edit war even if you believe you are right. Post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If edit warring continues, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. 09:39, 31 August 2010 (UTC)

That's probably because i've made two edits on the same page:
http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Old_Belarusian_language&diff=381888176&oldid=381854537
http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Old_Belarusian_language&diff=382034461&oldid=381968602
But it's worth noticing that both times i've made reasonable comments on my edits, and those who reverted them said nothing, but "Actually, you're wrong".

Information icon Hello, I'm Leonidlednev. An edit that you recently made to GPS tracking unit seemed to be generated using a large language model (an "AI chatbot" or other application using such technology). Text produced by these applications is usually unsuitable for an encyclopedia, and may contain factually inaccurate statements, fictitious citations, or other problems. You should instead read reliable sources and then summarize those in your own words. Your edit may have been reverted. If you want to practice editing, please use your sandbox. Hello Leonidlednev,
Thank you for your message regarding my recent edits to the GPS tracking unit page and for your diligence in maintaining Wikipedia's quality.
I'd like to be transparent about my editing process. You are correct that I used a large language model to assist with the edits, and in accordance with Wikipedia's guideline on large language models (WP:LLM). My use of the tool was strictly for improving the grammar, wording, and encyclopedic tone of the content, which is a permissible use of AI as an editing tool under WP:AI. I want to assure you that I take full responsibility for the content, as required by that policy.
My main motivation for the rewrite was that the article has had a "more citations needed" tag since January 2019 and contained significantly outdated information. My goal was to directly address these issues by introducing a large number of recent, reliable sources to create a modern, well-structured, and verifiable overview of the technology.
Crucially, all of the substantive information added was derived directly from the reliable, secondary sources provided in the citations, in full adherence with Wikipedia's core policies of Verifiability and No Original Research. I personally gathered and verified each source to ensure it supported the text, and the AI was not used to generate any unsourced facts or create fictitious citations, but to help me as a non-native english speaker.
If there are any specific sentences or claims you still find problematic or believe are not adequately supported by their citation, please let me know. I would be happy to refine them or discuss the sources further. Otherwise I will get revert it back to my version.
Best regards,
UrusHyby (talk) 18:19, 18 September 2025 (UTC)
WP:AI is not policy, also do not use an LLM to generate comments on talk pages, see WP:AITALK. There is strong evidence that you have used an LLM to generate content outright, one example being your most recent creation at Mikita Melkazioraŭ where all the references are hallucinated.
If your ability to use English is such that you cannot function without relying on an LLM, then the English Wikipedia is not the project for you. Consider editing on your native language's Wikipedia or the Simple English Wikipedia instead.
Regardless, stop copying and pasting LLM content into Wikipedia. fifteen thousand two hundred twenty four (talk) 13:16, 23 December 2025 (UTC)
thank you for your attention, I do believe that i follow the core concept of WP that AI is a proper tool, is it used carefully/. That is exactly what i was doing. Similarly the approach of WP:AICLEAN states "The purpose of this project is not to restrict or ban the use of AI in articles, but to verify that its output is acceptable and constructive, and to fix or remove it otherwise.". All the changes i do are goodwill based and supported by sources that i personally handpick Preferences (talk) 13:57, 23 December 2025 (UTC)
Replied to at the LLMN discussion here. fifteen thousand two hundred twenty four (talk) 14:51, 23 December 2025 (UTC)
Apologies as I should have mentioned this before, but there does exist a guideline you should be aware of, WP:NEWLLM, which states Large language models should not be used to generate new Wikipedia articles from scratch. fifteen thousand two hundred twenty four (talk) 17:19, 23 December 2025 (UTC)
thanks for highlighting. I totally share your concerns, noone need incorrect statements in wiki. I've already explained my position above. For the topics that I'm well aware, and especially pages with problem tags hanging there for 5+ years usage of bots both saves time and makes wikipedia better. all about good faith WP:AGF Preferences (talk) 17:44, 23 December 2025 (UTC)
usage of bots both saves time and makes wikipedia better No, it's just created more work and more subtle issues that are harder to detect and fix, and which other editors will now need to review and clean (more than 100 articles in this case). This is not saving time nor making Wikipedia better.
LLMs are highly unsuited for use on Wikipedia. They are predictive models, and predictions can be wrong. Sometimes these incorrect predictions are obvious as in **this edit**, other times they are more subtle such as with nonexistent journal articles in this edit. Models can introduce biases, either directly during text generation/modification, or indirectly by selectively making suggestions or returning sources. Models frequently violate the Manual of Style. These issues are core to how LLMs function, and can occur regardless of what prompts are used.
If you see a problem tag of 5+ years, but are unable to address it without using an LLM, then please just leave it unaddressed. fifteen thousand two hundred twenty four (talk) 18:13, 23 December 2025 (UTC)

Introduction to contentious topics

You have recently edited a page related to the Balkans or Eastern Europe, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia's norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have an expanded level of powers and discretion in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures, you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template. If you have questions, please contact me or ask at the Arbitration Committee Clerks Noticeboard. Mellk (talk) 12:49, 15 December 2025 (UTC)

Mikita Melkazioraŭ moved to draftspace

Thanks for your contributions to Mikita Melkazioraŭ. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing as a live article at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability and it consists of machine-generated text. I have converted it to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit the draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. – bradv 15:25, 23 December 2025 (UTC)

Your submission at Articles for creation: Mikita Melkazioraŭ (December 24)

Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by Josedimaria was:
The content of this submission includes material that does not meet Wikipedia's minimum standard for inline citations. Please cite your sources using footnotes. For instructions on how to do this, please see Referencing for beginners. Thank you.
The comment the reviewer left was:
Most sources talk only about his death.

Your inappropriate writing

In the article Mikita Melkazioraŭ I noticed two grave problems wiith your contributions

  • overgeneralization ; e.g., you write "The project was cited for its influence within the Belarusian media landscape", but the reference is for a singlle citation. Someone else must write ""was cited for" and only then you can add this claim into wikipedia
  • nonchalant treatment of references; you are adding statements not found in the refs cited, e.g., here.

Please review our policies WP:NOR, WP:CITE, WP:RS. --Altenmann >talk 21:00, 29 December 2025 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Fuel level sensor

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Fuel level sensor requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia, as it exhibits signs of having been generated by an AI model with no clear human review. Text produced by these applications can be unsuitable for an encyclopedia and output must be carefully checked. For further information, see the section G15 of the criteria for speedy deletion.

If you think these signs were incorrectly identified and you assert that you did carefully check the content, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Additionally – if you would like to create an article but find it difficult, please ask for help at the Teahouse. Lijil (talk) 04:20, 3 January 2026 (UTC)
