User talk:WCNo47
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Welcome!
Hello, WCNo47, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.
I noticed that one of the first articles you edited appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.
To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.
One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)
In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, visit the Teahouse, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! - Thank you for the welcome. May I ask for clarification on why I might have a conflict of interest? I believe my username complies with the rules and I am the sole user of this account. I reviewed the links on the topic and neither of the two situations outlined apply.
- Happy to draft and submit for proofreading if necessary, but wanted to clarify. Thank you, WCNo47 (talk) 23:26, 4 August 2024 (UTC)
- @AntiDionysius What is the process for removing this? I did not get clarification on why this notice was added in the first place? WCNo47 (talk) 00:03, 29 September 2025 (UTC)
Regarding cherrypicking in Casey Means article
I understand your scepticism, however I wanna point out that in that book, beside the numerous bizare claims contained there, she argues throughout from the standpoint of the "Functional medicine" (the term is used 6 times there, always in the context of (in my F.M. practice, or "At my functional medicine clinic"). Functional medicine is, meanwhile, is a form of pseudoscience, you can find numerous reliable sources describing it as such. Dont you think that in this case then just calling it "a wellness book" might give it (some) false credibility? After all, sources explicitly calling this particular book pseudoscience are lacking because, well, by 2025 few people bother arguing with wellness influencers, not because her foundational framework in that book is not considered b.s. (excuse my french) by the mainstream academic consensus? 5.44.170.181 (talk) 15:05, 8 May 2025 (UTC)
- No, a book on the topic of wellness is just that, a wellness book. It's not being positioned as anything more than that. If it were presented as an academic textbook, peer-reviewed article in a medical journal, diagnostic tool etc..., then I'd agree, however, it's a book on the topic of wellness. Functional medicine, while controversial, covers the topic of wellness. The point is to not turn a biographical wikipedia page into a book review site - there is positive coverage of the book by credentialed health experts in both interviews and reviews, however we're not listing those on the page either. WCNo47 (talk) 21:47, 8 May 2025 (UTC)
- fine, since i see you're still editing the article and i cant edit it and i cant be bothered registring, could you please fix the referencing in the chapter about the book. I've fouled up referencing the book throughout the article, such that the references 22, 23 and 24 (which i've erroneously called Casey & Casey 2024 because i confused their names with their surnames) all refer to the Good energy book itself. Ive had to do them manually since apparently wikipedia does not support adding multiple references to the same source but citing different pages
- (inb4 I know primary sources arent great, which is why i've used exact citations enclosed in the quotation marks, hope that wouldn't be considered plagiarism, lol) 5.44.170.181 (talk) 06:01, 9 May 2025 (UTC)
Introduction to contentious topics
You have recently edited a page related to complementary and alternative medicine, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.
A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have an expanded level of powers and discretion in order to reduce disruption to the project.
Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:
- adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
- comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
- follow editorial and behavioural best practices;
- comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
- refrain from gaming the system.
Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures, you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

Something you might be interested in
Hey WCNo47! I noticed you are a member of WikiProject Politics with interests in election results and environmental protection, so you might be interested in a new draft article I have been creating the last few days: Draft:Influence of severe weather on American politics. The article focuses a lot on how politics get affected or influenced by severe weather. For example, how Hurricane Helene last year influenced the outcome of the 2024 United States presidential election, as well as how the U.S. Congress investigated (twice actually) FEMA's response to the effects of Hurricane Helene.
I have actually found several presidential elections that were influenced by politics, with the most notable being the 2012 election influenced by Hurricane Sandy, leading to the creation of this article: Political impact of Hurricane Sandy.
I do not know if you would be interested in this topic, but I wanted to let you know about it. If you are interested, feel free to edit and add stuff to the draft article, and if you have any questions, you are always welcome to message me! If you are not interested, just ignore this message. Have a wonderful day! The Weather Event Writer (Talk Page) 07:22, 3 August 2025 (UTC)
