- Thank you for informing me about the manual of style. The reason I was adding the hokkien poj in this method is because the Template:SMRT infobox colour does not allow for poj to be displayed if there is no mandarin pinyin in place and my goal is to add hokkien poj only and i am not sure how to fix the code issue Warpswitch (talk) 10:35, 30 August 2025 (UTC)

- The template itself is correct already. Hokkien is not an official language of Singapore, nor has the LTA published station names in this dialect. This is evident from their official website, where MRT maps are provided only in Singapore's official languages. - LTA has specified nowhere that their 华文 maps are intended to be mandarin specifically, they do not use mandarin pinyin on their sources, only 简体汉字 which can be read in either mandarin or hokkien. As for your last sentence "Hokkien cannot be included here on English Wikipedia" then should hokkien poj be removed from the pages of planning areas of singapore with chinese names that are intended to be transcribed in hokkien or are literally areas with hokkien names ? since it isnt an "offical language" Warpswitch (talk) 11:19, 30 August 2025 (UTC)

", you would also need to seek WP:CONSENSUS, for example at Talk:MTR or WT:HK, since such changes would affect over 100 articles. - As I've stated before, adding Hokkien to MRT station articles and/or removing it from planning area or other Singapore-related articles would require consensus, regardless of the rationale. My replies have been from a procedural standpoint, in line with English Wikipedia's content policies and standards, as evident by the constant linking to policies.
