The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

I think you have jumped the gun here: the discussion at Talk:José Contreras (luthier) has not found consensus yet, and there is an equal and opposite position for the creation of this page. - Done! Sorry about making that change while the discussion was ongoing. My reasoning for my bold action was that Joseph Contreras was, at the time, about a man who has never been known as "Joseph", and a rename to "José" had been proposed on what's now Talk:José Contreras (luthier) all the way back in 2007. With the establishment of notability of a pitcher actually known as "Joseph Contreras", I took a series of actions, but the split was not yet warranted. I moved his bio to be a section of his father's article, with the same photos as before, but in a more modern gallery layout. White 720 (talk) 21:06, 7 March 2026 (UTC)
