Proposed changes to John Hyatt

Hello Wire723, I have seen you have recently edited the John Hyatt page regarding his family, so if you could check out the Talk page regarding potential changes that would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Bath House at Corsham Court

Done you a little Wiltshire Start article, as a thanks in advance for an image of Wren's monument. All the best. KJP1 (talk) 11:16, 28 May 2020 (UTC)

Good thorough job. Likewise Alvediston Manor. --Wire723 (talk) 12:07, 28 May 2020 (UTC)
KJP1, I have added a picture I took of the bath last summer. Moonraker (talk) 09:54, 13 July 2020 (UTC)
Moonraker - and a very nice image it is! KJP1 (talk) 10:21, 13 July 2020 (UTC)

Changes to edited article: Rachel Hurst

I edited the article about Rachel Hurst (I am her daughter) as the one that was here was inaccurate and she considered it offensive in its use of disablist language. However, someone decided that the version that was already there was better, so they reinstated it. I would be most grateful if, when I have re-edited the article, to one which meets with Rachel Hurst's approval I might add, that it be allowed to remain. Hello and thanks for making contact.
Wikipedia has a reputation for neutrality and therefore discourages editing by people connected with the article's subject. This is called a "conflict of interest" – please see WP:COI.
The factual inaccuracies and offensive language are best addressed by pointing them out on the article's Talk page, and letting a neutral person make the changes. Any material you add must be backed up by reliable sources in the usual way. --Wire723 (talk) 17:37, 8 August 2020 (UTC)

The edits I made were based on a CV supplied by Rachel Hurst and at her request, and the article was submitted to, and approved by, her prior to being uploaded  Preceding unsigned comment added by MuttleyJed (talkcontribs) 13:21, 10 August 2020 (UTC)

That's fine but it doesn't let you bypass the need for verifiability of all statements made by the encyclopedia. I'm sure your intentions are good but imagine the case where a malicious person gets a henchman to upload a made-up CV: we couldn't let that stand on the grounds that the subject approved it. --Wire723 (talk) 15:01, 10 August 2020 (UTC)

UTCs

There is a lot of material on the TES site that we can use. A lot. The analysis appears to be ongoing- it will take a lot of time to accurately report it- sorry, real life intervened before I could do anything useful. I think we do need to explain why the stats are not simple, and the factors we must consider, pull the article from populist reportage to something that is academically sound. I am watching Medway UTC and the term 'fresh start' and how it differs from normal refactoring. Boring down on the statement that implies that Energy Coast UTC is an outstanding school, because Ofsted has graded it as such, reveals that it is heavily in debt. --ClemRutter (talk) 17:29, 18 October 2020 (UTC)

Keep up the good work, but try not to let your dislike of the UTC system get in the way of objectivity. Wire723 (talk) 17:34, 18 October 2020 (UTC)

Westbury, Wiltshire

I have just spotted that you have done some good work here, well done! Moonraker (talk) 20:30, 30 December 2020 (UTC)

Appreciated. History section could be expanded - I limited my time so I could move on to other parishes. Wire723 (talk) 10:24, 31 December 2020 (UTC)

Wroughton Wroughton

I reverted your edit on High Sheriff of Wiltshire because "George Wroughton Wroughton" appears to be correct. He was born George Wroughton Montagu, his middle name honoring his mother's family, and subsequently had to change his surname by letters patent to receive the Wroughton inheritance. That's a common enough pattern among landed gentry of that age that I thought I'd mention it. Choess (talk) 16:19, 6 January 2021 (UTC)

Thanks for correcting me. Wire723 (talk) 16:22, 6 January 2021 (UTC)
