The 420 Collaboration is an annual campaign to create and improve cannabis-related content at Wikipedia and other Wikimedia projects in a variety of fields, including culture, health, hemp, history, medicine, politics and religion.

Shortcut

The campaign usually runs starting late March through April, and is organized around curated lists of redlinks or at-will article creation and improvement on English Wikipedia (or media contributions to Wikimedia Commons).

Quick instructions

  1. Improve or create any article related to Cannabis.
  2. Add the 420 Collaboration template on the talk page: {{420 Collaboration talk|years=2026}}.
  3. Add the article to the results.

Detailed instructions

  1. Review Wikipedia:Writing about cannabis
  2. Improve or create any article, upload any media, translate any existing article, or do anything else in the spirit of the collaboration. We are very permissive for what is allowed under the scope of WP:420. New and improved articles, lists, templates, categories, free media, non-free media, translations, and definitions on Wiktionary are all accepted and celebrated here.
    1. For improving existing articles:
      1. See Category:Cannabis articles by quality.
    2. For creating new articles:
      1. See Wikipedia:WikiProject Cannabis/Redlinks.
      2. See Wikipedia:WikiProject Women in Red/Cannabis.
    3. For uploading missing media:
      1. See Wikipedia:WikiProject Cannabis/Redlinks#Requested media.
      2. See Category:Wikipedia requested images of cannabis.
      3. See Commons for tips on uploading images or other media for use in articles.
    4. For translating:
      1. See Wikipedia:WikiProject_Cannabis/Redlinks#Translation for articles missing in English and existing elsewhere.
      2. For articles existing in English and missing elsewhere, look at the "Languages" section on the left margin of any article to see if it already exists in another language or is lacking. You can use Wikipedia:Content translation tool to translate into another language quickly and easily without coding, provided you are proficient in the target language.
  3. Add the 420 Collaboration template on the talk page on whatever was created or improved: {{420 Collaboration talk|years=2026}}. This should be added at the top of the talk page after any other talk page templates. If the page was already created or improved in a previous year, then you can append the year in a list format, like so: {{420 Collaboration talk|years=2025, and 2026}} or {{420 Collaboration talk|years=2024, 2025, and 2026}}.
  4. Add your creations and improvements to WP:420#Results.
  5. (Optional) Review the creations and improvements of others.
  6. (Optional) Submit your best creations to WP:DYK.
  7. (Optional) Award barnstars to celebrate the contributions of others.
