A featured topic (FT) is a collection of inter-related articles in which at least half are featured articles or featured lists. The remaining articles must be at least good quality.

A good topic (GT) is a collection of inter-related articles that are of a good quality (though are not necessarily featured articles) with a less stringent quality threshold than a featured topic.

This page is for the nomination of potential featured and good topics. See the featured and good topic criteria for criteria on both types of topic.

Before nominating a topic, nominators may wish to receive feedback by listing it at the Featured and good topics talk page. Nominators must be sufficiently familiar with the subject matter and sources to deal with objections during the FTC/GTC process. If you nominate something you have worked on, note it as a self-nomination. Nominators who are not significant contributors to the articles of the topic should consult regular editors of the articles prior to nomination. Nominators are expected to respond positively to constructive criticism and to make an effort to address objections promptly.

The featured and good topics coordinators Aza24, MaranoFan and Kyle Peake determine the timing of the process for each nomination. For a nomination to be promoted to FT or GT status, consensus must be reached for a group to be promoted to featured or good topic status. If enough time passes without objections being resolved, nominations will be removed from the candidates topic and archived.

To contact the FGTC coordinators, please leave a message on the FGTC talk page, or use the {{@FGTC}} notification template elsewhere.

Nomination procedure

To create a new nomination use the form below (e.g., Wikipedia:Featured and good topic candidates/Saffron/archive1) and click the "Create new nomination" button.

Once the nomination page is created, remember to transclude it in the appropriate section below, to leave nomination templates on the talk pages of the articles nominated for the topic. For detailed instructions on how to nominate topics or add articles to existing topics, see Wikipedia:Featured and good topic candidates/Nomination procedure.

Supporting and objecting

Please review all the articles of the nominated topic with the featured and good topic criteria in mind before deciding to support or oppose a nomination.

  • To edit nominations in order to comment on them, you must click the "edit" link to the right of the article nomination on which you wish to comment (not the overall page's "edit this page" link).
  • If you approve of a nomination, write '''Support''' followed by your reasons. Supports that clearly evaluate the criteria will be weighted more than those that do not.
  • If you oppose a nomination, write '''Oppose''' or '''Object''' followed by the reason for your objection. Each objection must provide a specific rationale that can be addressed. If nothing can be done in principle to fix the source of the objection, the objection may be ignored.
    • To withdraw an objection, strike it out (with <s>...</s>) rather than removing it.

For a topic to be promoted to featured or good topic status, consensus must be reached that it meets the criteria. The FGTC coordinators are usually the ones to assess this consensus and close FGTC discussions. If there is a consensus to promote, the promote instructions are located here. If enough time passes without objections being resolved (at least one week), nominations will be removed from the candidates list and archived. Nominations will stay here for ten days if there is unanimous consent, or longer if warranted by debate.

Metroid Prime: Trilogy

Metroid Prime: Trilogy is a 2009 action-adventure game compilation developed by Retro Studios and published by Nintendo for the Wii. It compiles three entries from the Metroid franchise: Metroid Prime (2002), Metroid Prime 2: Echoes (2004) and Metroid Prime 3: Corruption (2007).

The overall Metroid topic was delisted in 2017, and will remain this way until three articles are improved. But during this down time, why not acknowledge a complete subset — one compilation and all three games included in it — that me and Gary got to Featured and Good status way back then but still hold up after 15+ years? In case the bigger topic is restored, just fold this back into it. igordebraga 06:09, 31 March 2026 (UTC)

  • Support, for now at least. I do think that if the overall Metroid topic comes back this should be folded into it, as mentioned. But this seems like a complete topic in of itself. Clear scope consisting of an official trilogy and a parent article. A brief skim of all three articles also suggests to me they're still in decent shape despite being old FAs (I don't notice any unsourced content, and that's one of the biggest issues with old FAs generally). I think this works. λ NegativeMP1 07:13, 31 March 2026 (UTC)
Support Per above. Honestly is a solid subtopic for the case of when the wider Metroid topic gets restored. Articles are all still solid so should be good to go. Magneton Considerer: Pokelego999 (Talk) (Contribs) 18:57, 2 April 2026 (UTC)
  • Oppose The Metroid Prime series consists of more games than this. Specifically, there are Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, Metroid Prime Hunters, Metroid Prime: Federation Force, and Metroid Prime Pinball, even if you ignore all other games that are not within the Metroid Prime spinoff umbrella. Having a topic that is solely the first 3 games is a totally arbitrary distinction. It may have made a bit of sense before Prime 4 got released, as it would be all "mainline" Metroid Prime video games, but now it makes essentially no sense whatsoever, and is misleading to readers, who may assume the series ONLY has 3 games. At the very least Prime 4 would have to become a Good Article before I can support this, and the topic's scope changed to main Metroid Prime series games rather than an arbitrary trilogy just because the games were bundled once. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ () 10:14, 15 April 2026 (UTC)
This topic is about all games released under the Metroid Prime Trilogy game, Prime 4 and any other game doesn’t fall under that definition Crystal Drawers 🎖️ (wanna talk?) 13:06, 15 April 2026 (UTC)
I'm not sure how that would qualify as a topic grouping that makes sense. The games don't seem notable as a group, only the Metroid Prime Trilogy video game seems notable by itself.
To put it another way, unless they are notable as a group outside of pure reception and reviews of the Wii trilogy release, it probably shouldn't be a Featured TOpic. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ () 10:43, 16 April 2026 (UTC)
So, do you disagree with Rare Replay being a Good Topic, given it's the exact same thing I'm doing, the compilation and all games in it? igordebraga 06:26, 17 April 2026 (UTC)
I don't think it's quite the same. Rare Replay is a curated group of games specifically picked to appear in the collection and represent Rare as a company. Metroid Prime Trilogy, on the other hand, was literally just "all the mainline Prime games up to that point bundled together", in other words it's much more arbitrary to single that out as a noteworthy grouping. It's possible that if they decided to release such a collection right now, it would be a quadrilogy. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ () 14:32, 17 April 2026 (UTC)
You're still not making any arguments that invalidate this topic. If it was the Metroid Prime series, it would be spelled out as such and include anything with "Metroid Prime" in the title. But no, it's the scope contained by the compilation, without cherry-picking or having to forcefully put something as a main article. For another counter-example, would a topic on Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection be invalid because the series continued past the three games in that compilation? igordebraga 07:10, 18 April 2026 (UTC)
I would oppose a featured topic on "The Nathan Drake Collection" as opposed to "Uncharted series" for similar reasons - it fails to be comprehensive as a topic. As someone who's played and enjoyed all 4 Uncharted games, I cannot fathom why only the first three games would count as a "complete topic", and that's even more egregious than Metroid Prime because 4 definitively wraps up Nathan Drake's story. One could potentially argue that even if Prime 1-3 lacks comprehensiveness by excluding 4, 1-3 tell their own subplot. I still think 4 should be included because a topic about Metroid Prime's mainline games makes far more sense. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ () 10:35, 18 April 2026 (UTC)
Well, this isn't a Metroid Prime mainline games topic, just a compilation topic like Rare Replay or the demoted Orange Box. As such it fits all the criteria and has no gaps, no matter if you insist on complicating just because games outside the compilation exist. And as mentioned, if the overall topic was restored, this would just be folded back. Thus, I'm not giving any more attention to your unnecessary argument. igordebraga 16:58, 18 April 2026 (UTC)
Support I don’t see an issue with this becoming a GT, all games that fall under the GA Metroid Prime: Trilogy are also GAs, so it’s a complete topic. Crystal Drawers 🎖️ (wanna talk?) 13:08, 15 April 2026 (UTC)
  • Support: I don't follow the sole !oppose. This is a good topic for the trilogy and all articles remain featured, so this is a valid candidate. 11WB (talk) 07:11, 24 April 2026 (UTC)
  • Support: The sole oppose is nonsensical because the standard they set for comprehensiveness is entirely arbitrary. "Metroid Prime: Trilogy" itself is a sound, complete, comprehensive topic. The main topic is a 2009 re-release, and the subarticles are the games included in the re-release. All the other Metroid games do not fall under the scope of this topic. OceanHok (talk) 12:48, 25 April 2026 (UTC)
Strong Support per above. TheSilksongPikmin (talk | contribs) 09:46, 26 April 2026 (UTC)

Good topic nominations

Wolf-class gunboats

For the last year and a half or so, I've been working on a GT on all of the gunboats built (or otherwise acquired) by the German navies from the 1850s through WWII (as listed out here), and this will be one of the subtopics that will keep the overall topic at a manageable size. All four articles passed GA reviews last year, so this topic should be in pretty good shape. Thanks to all who take the time to look it over. Parsecboy (talk) 12:17, 22 April 2026 (UTC)

Doctor Who series 15

The fifteenth series of the British science fiction television programme Doctor Who aired on BBC One and Disney+ from 12 April – 31 May 2025. It is the second and final series to feature both Ncuti Gatwa and Millie Gibson, the only to feature Varada Sethu, and is the final eight of twenty-six episodes of the show to be produced under a co-production deal with Disney. Preceded by a Christmas special on 25 December 2024 starring Nicola Coughlan, the series follows a loose story-arc about an abducted nurse who wishes to return home. Filmed back-to-back with the fourteenth, it is the sixth series to be showrun by Russell T Davies, and the second after his return to the programme in 2023. Although the future of the show was uncertain for a period following the series' conclusion, further episodes were later announced.

The final article in this proposed good topic was finally promoted after nearly a year, so I am more than happy to bring this here. If promoted, this would be a subtopic of Wikipedia:Good topics/List of Doctor Who episodes (2005–present). Thank you for your consideration, TheDoctorWho (talk) 17:53, 21 April 2026 (UTC)

Support I reviewed (and passed) all except one of these articles and they were/are all of very high quality. This definitely should be promoted as a Good Topic! DaniloDaysOfOurLives (talk) 19:23, 21 April 2026 (UTC)
Support Great work! Would love to see some of these at FAC, they are all very high quality and I think a FT could be achieved here in the future. Crystal Drawers 🎖️ (wanna talk?) 00:03, 22 April 2026 (UTC)

2025 Indian Premier League

The 2025 Indian Premier League, also known as IPL 18 and branded as TATA IPL 2025, was the 18th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), a professional Twenty20 (T20) cricket league held in India, organized by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The tournament featured 10 teams competing in 74 matches. It began on 22 March and was held across 13 venues before being suspended on 9 May due to the 2025 India–Pakistan crisis. The matches resumed from 17 May across six venues, with the final rescheduled from 25 May to 3 June.

The defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders were eliminated in the league stage. In the final, Royal Challengers Bengaluru defeated Punjab Kings by 6 runs to win their maiden title after 18 years. Sai Sudharsan and Prasidh Krishna of Gujarat Titans scored the most runs (759) and took the most wickets (25) respectively. Suryakumar Yadav of Mumbai Indians was awarded as the most valuable player of the tournament.

Support Good that along with all the pageviews Indian cricket also provides for quality articles! igordebraga 06:28, 17 April 2026 (UTC)

Pokémon fan games (1st supplementary nomination)

This topic is already featured. It is being re-nominated to add additional items. See Wikipedia talk:Featured topics/Pokémon fan games for discussions of the topic's previous nominations. The additional items are:

  1. Pokémon Insurgence
Contributor(s): Pokelego999, 11WB

Nominating recently promoted Pokémon Insurgence to be included in the existing Pokémon fan games good topic. 11WB (talk) 12:07, 2 April 2026 (UTC)

Support per above. See no reason not to add this. Magneton Considerer: Pokelego999 (Talk) (Contribs) 18:57, 2 April 2026 (UTC)
Will note I was part of the original fan games GT nom but am uninvolved with Insurgence; not sure if that means a COI or anything but figured I'd note it down just in case. Magneton Considerer: Pokelego999 (Talk) (Contribs) 18:57, 2 April 2026 (UTC)
I should also disclose I'm a contributor and I made an error by adding Insurgence to this list unilaterally, as I was unaware of the supplementary nomination requirement (this has been undone now). 11WB (talk) 20:27, 2 April 2026 (UTC)

Quick comment as a fan. What about Twitch Plays Pokémon? Its categories go to Pokémon fan, and it is a modified version of the game. I’m just curious what the rationale for inclusion is, since I was hoping to see that here. Hurricanehink mobile (talk) 19:24, 8 April 2026 (UTC)

  • Support Per nom. I do not believe Twitch Plays Pokemon is a fan game, it's a mod of the official game, so it does not belong here. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ () 10:18, 15 April 2026 (UTC)
To add to @Zxcvbnm's reply, that article isn't a GA anyway, so it wouldn't be eligible for inclusion even if it did meet the topic inclusion criteria. 11WB (talk) 17:58, 16 April 2026 (UTC)
@11WB while I agree with Zx's rationale that it shouldn't be included since it's not actually a fan game, I am letting you know for the future that if Twitch were to be included it not being GA status would impact the nomination's ability to pass. All articles in the topic need to be GA status for a topic to pass, and one not being at that status, even if it came up later, would interfere with that.
All that said, Twitch should not be included, so this shouldn't be an issue, and I do not believe personally that it should be. This is mostly just to clarify this for the future should you do any further GT noms. Magneton Considerer: Pokelego999 (Talk) (Contribs) 18:41, 21 April 2026 (UTC)
