Wikipedia:WikiProject London/Naming conventions

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Geographic

  • Localities: when the only locality with the name is in London (or if the London locality has primacy of meaning) the article should just be called Bethnal Green
    • If it needs to be disambiguated with another article the suffix ", London" should be added e.g. Wimbledon, London
    • In rare cases where two localities within London shares the same name, the suffix should be the borough e.g. Hayes, Bromley and Hayes, Hillingdon
    • Postal geography (post towns, postcode districts etc.) are not used for article naming or disambiguation
