From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Photos have been uploaded for more than 80 percent of all sites listed on the National Register of Historic Places, created mostly by members of WikiProject National Register of Historic Places. More than 70 percent have articles; more than 20 percent have "Start"-rated articles; a combo measure suggests that overall development is more than 50 percent "complete". This page tabulates related statistics for all counties or county equivalents in all U.S. states and territories. This includes tabulating most of the 1,103 members of Category:All articles sourced only to NRIS.[note 1]

The tables and maps on this page are updated by use of scripts. See the /Instructions subpage for instructions on how to run the scripts to update the tables and maps yourself. A historical chart of the data on this page can be found on the /History subpage, as well as instructions on how to create custom charts using this page's historical data.

Net Quality

The "net quality rating" of a county, city, or state is a weighted average of several percentage variables for a measure of the overall "completeness" of coverage. It takes into account the percent illustrated, percent articled, and percent Start+, as well as the other statistics listed in these tables. A county in which every single article is illustrated and has a rating of Start or higher will have a 100% net quality rating. Images count for 25% of the net quality rating, and articles count for 75%. Deductions are given for NRIS-only, untagged and unassessed articles, and partial credit is given for stubs. The formula used to calculate an area's net quality rating is netQuality=max(0,[0.75*(StartPlus+0.5*Stubs+0.25*Unassessed-0.5*Untagged-0.75*NRISonly)+0.25*Illustrated]/listings*100)
