Wikipedia:Reward board

Informal page where users may offer a reward to editors willing to complete a certain task From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The reward board is an informal page where users who want completed a specific task related to Wikipedia (such as the promotion of an article to featured article status or the editing of an image) can offer a reward to editors willing to take on the task. The execution and details of the transaction are the responsibility of the participating parties, and the reward can be monetary, goods (books, cookies, etc.), barnstars, or tit-for-tat editing (like improving another article).

Reward board is similar to the defunct Bounty board; however, instead of a donation to the Wikimedia Foundation, payment is made directly to a specific editor.

The Wikimedia Foundation is not hiring contributors and no payments are made by the Foundation. This is purely a page for editors to offer rewards to other editors. Challenges may remain open for a maximum duration of one year. After that period of time, the challenge will be moved to /Expired requests; however, the author of the challenge may repost the challenge with a new expiration period. The aim of this policy is to keep the board clutter-free, ensure editors are available to fulfill such challenges, and to ensure the challenges are still valid.

See Wikipedia:Conflict of interest for information about monetary compensation and possible conflicts of interest.

How to offer a reward

If you would like to offer a reward such as the ones below, simply add an entry below. Add all the details that you feel are relevant to the reward, in a format similar to this pattern:

===Reward title===
*'''Offeror''': ~~~
*'''Date offered''': ~~~~~
*'''Request''': What needs to be done to claim the award.
*'''Reward''': The reward you are offering.
*'''Limit on rewards''': In the case of possible multiple rewards, any limit set.
*'''Expires''': Date until which your offer is valid. Max expiration date is one year from offer date.
*'''Sign-up''': Person interested in taking on the task. Please provide expected completion date.

In the case of a monetary offer, please specify country currency. Numerous countries use the same symbols.

Please place new entries in chronological order of expiration. See /Fulfilled requests for past rewards.

Comprehensive BLP update: Christopher G. Moore — $450 USD

  • Offeror: CGMoore2026 (talk) — I am disclosing a conflict of interest as the article subject. This engagement will be fully disclosed per WP:PAID.
  • Date offered: 11 March 2026
  • Article: Christopher G. Moore
  • Request:

A comprehensive update to an existing BLP for a notable Canadian crime novelist. A detailed revision brief has been prepared in advance — the editor receives a complete document specifying every change, the rationale for each, the supporting citations, and notes on which sections require restraint pending third-party sourcing. This is an execution job, not a research job. The brief is ready. The editor implements it cleanly, in a single session, in compliance with WP:BLP, WP:NPOV, and WP:V. Scope of work: • Correct factual errors in the lead paragraph (novel count; erroneous "last in series" claim) • Add a structured Biography section (currently absent from the article) • Add the most recent publication to the bibliography (The Client That Wasn't There, Heaven Lake Press, March 2026) • Complete and correct the full bibliography (missing titles, one duplicated ISBN) • Restructure existing critical reception quotes into a dedicated Reception section • Add an Awards section (currently buried in running prose) • Add appropriate Wikipedia categories • One brief round of monitoring for community pushback immediately following edits

  • Eligibility — please read before signing up:

I am looking specifically for an editor with a demonstrated track record in BLP work. To be considered, your response must include: Your account age and current edit count Links to your three most recent edits on BLP articles A brief statement of your experience with WP:COI disclosure and paid editing compliance Confirmation that your account has no active sanctions, blocks, or topic bans Responses without these four items will not be considered. I am not filtering by price — I am filtering by experience. The reward is fixed at $450 USD regardless of time taken.

  • Reward: $450 USD, paid via WISE upon completion. Full payment on delivery — no staged payments, no retainers.
  • Limit on rewards: 1 editor. First qualified respondent to demonstrate the eligibility criteria above will be engaged.
  • Expires: 14 May 2026, or earlier if filled.
  • Sign-up: Reply on this board with the four eligibility items listed above, then leave a message on my Talk page at User talk:CGMoore2026. Do not begin work without prior written agreement.

  • Date offered: 20:43, 14 June 2024 (UTC)
  • Requests: Complete or build (in order of urgency/importance; only #1 is super important)—
  1. The {{Infobox election runoff}} template, based on either {{Infobox election}} or one of its foreign-language variants (Spanish and French have some decent-looking ones). This should include a way to display final/best-round results for each candidate or two-party-preference vote totals, and percentage calculations from raw vote totals.
  2. {{Election results-STV}} should be edited to include calculations of exhausted ballots in each round, the code should be tidied up a bit, and documentation needed.
  3. The {{Election box ranked choice}} templates (e.g. {{Election box ranked choice begin}}). These templates should be grouped in a single category, and should be edited to provide a round-by-round breakdown of transfer votes.
  • Reward: {{The Technical Barnstar}}, {{The Template Barnstar}}, or {{The Barnstar of Liberty}}; and a bunch of "I voted" stickers (from last time I volunteered at a polling place) I have lost the stickers :( but I can send you some in November if you want

Convert 15 newspapers.com /image sources into clippings

Lots of people who cite newspapers.com simply, and incorrectly, link to the full page of a newspaper that comes up from a search in their citations. This makes it difficult to pin down the source and inaccessible to anyone who doesn't have a newspapers.com subscription. So, if you have one (you can get one through the Wikipedia Library), you can instead clip the newspaper article being cited so that the citation is precise and accessible! You'll know you've made a clipping when you can replace the /image URL with a /article URL. A list of pages that needs fixing can be found here. Enjoy! theleekycauldron (talk • she/her) 04:25, 16 April 2025 (UTC)

I am not personally interested, but it's really interesting to see QPQs be used as a sort of de facto "money" on Wikipedia. You could imagine the creation of some sort of "article improvement credit", where you can get one in the first place by getting a GA (or something), and then spend it by giving it to someone else, who will then improve an article and spend it on an article they want improved. Sort of like changing the barter system (article for article) to a monetary system. Of course, there's probably not enough demand for all that, but it would be fun. Mrfoogles (talk) 22:47, 25 April 2025 (UTC)
I am willing to also add QPQs from my bank as a reward for this; leave me a talk page message if you want to claim one! Staraction (talk | contribs) 20:51, 5 October 2025 (UTC)
