Essay on editing Wikipedia
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
There is no need to individually thank every single person who comments on your request for adminship.
This is an essay. It contains the advice or opinions of one or more Wikipedia contributors. This page is not an encyclopedia article or a Wikipedia policy, as it has not been reviewed by the community. |

It annoys some recipients, and it gives the impression of ownership. It is far better to restrict the use of the THANK button to edits which you found particularly appropriate, or after a period of heavy editing to add a note of thanks at the bottom of the article or discussion talk page.
