• Keep In addition to the citations above proving notability, there are additional reviews of Evelyn Taocheng Wang's work in Artforum (sources 1 and 2) along with a major, in-depth profile of the artist and her work in the same magazine. Since ArtForum is the premier magazine in the world on contemporary art, this is a big deal. In addition, I also found profiles of the artist and her work in Art Basel (source), ArtReview (source), Mousse Magazine (source), and too many additional publications and major exhibitions/museums to add them all here. As an example of this extensive coverage, the Wikipedia Library lists 47 articles and journals about Wang and her work. Finally, Wang won the prestigious Wolfgang Hahn Prize. Yes, the article needs a lot of work but the subject easily meets WP:ARTIST as having "been a substantial part of a significant exhibition" along with winning "significant critical attention (and being) represented within the permanent collections of several notable galleries or museums." The movement was a very big concern for Pakistan when it came down to events in Afghanistan, for example when the PDPA-Khalq took power in Afghanistan, Zia Al Haq expressed the fact that the new Khalqist government had the Pashtunistan issue in its manifesto, in his letter to Jimmy Carter:

"Paragraph 8 of the ruling Khalq Party’s manifesto issued in October 1977, specifically mentions the Durand Line, the recognised international frontier between Pakistan and Afghanistan, as a “colonial imposition” and pledges support to the so-called “national movement of the people of Pakhtoonistan” in our territory. Those are not comparable. One is a flag you made yourself with no real significance, the other is a flag that was officially promoted by the government of Afghanistan and flew on Afghan government property and was also used by armed Pashtun separatists such as those loyal to the Faqir of Ipi. I don't think a flag made by an individual with no real usage is comparable to a flag which had official usage by the government of Afghanistan (Being flown by the monarchy, the republic and the democratic republic). I have provided sources and video showing not only its official usage by the Afghan government in Pashtunistan square, but also noting its usage by armed Pashtun groups following the creation of Pakistan. Afghanistan literally had a national holiday on the 9th of Sunbola (The 6th month in the solar Hijri calendar) called Pashtunistan Day, often times marked by military parades.

Keep. The flag of a fictional micro nation cannot be compared to the Pashtunistan flag, which is real, physically tangible, and is part of Afghanistan’s and the KPK’s history. It was additionally flown in Pashtunistan Square during 1969.

Keep I will just paste my previous messages here which show the Pashtunistan flag is in fact notable (as the flag is the main symbol of the Pashtunistan movement which was one of the most significant aspects of Afghan foreign policy in the 20th century). The debate is whatever or not the flag has any sort of significance to which it has plenty of significance considering its official usage by the Afghan state (with a national holiday called Pashtunistan Day existing) and its use by armed groups in the late 40s, 50s and 60s.

The reason is that the sources on the article's page are mostly about the Pashtunistan independence movement and don't give much WP:SIGCOV to the topic of the flag itself. The most sigcov given is a single paragraph. And given that Pashtunistan doesn't exist as a state, I am skeptical of there being entry for this in, say, The World Encyclopedia of Flags. • Merge to Pashtun nationalism#Symbols as an WP:ATD. There are some sources from the Afghanistan Center at Kabul University Archives and the International Journal of Multidisciplinary Research and Growth Evaluation that discuss the symbolism of the flag. • Keep -- Publishers Weekly lists at least 9 reviews of the author's various books (source) while the Wikipedia Library shows the author has an entry in Baker & Taylor Author Biographies along with additional reviews in Library Journal. In addition, in 2010 Rolling Stone named them one of the "premier authors" of male/male historical romances. That same year, Out Magazine did an in-depth profile of Beecroft and another M/M author. I have been unable to find significant coverage of this person in reliable sources. Most of the sources are media interviews about her work. I do not believe that she independently meets the notability guideline for authors. Biography of a political figure, not properly sourced as having any strong claim to passing WP:NPOL. The strongest notability claim here is that he served for several years on a city commission, which is not a level of office that constitutes an automatic notability pass -- and no, it's not the same thing as the city council, but was a municipal committee whose members were appointed to their jobs by the city council.
But the article is not sourced anywhere near well enough to claim that he would pass NPOL #2 on this basis -- apart from one article about his appointment to the commission, this is otherwise referenced to a glancing namecheck of his existence on one page of a history book about the city, one very short blurb about his much later candidacy for another office that he didn't win, and a news brief about the death of his wife, none of which constitutes substantive GNG-worthy coverage.

  Bearian, this comment struck me as odd. The link you've provided is to an article about the Department of Natural Resources, created 40 years after Arthur Harrison died... If you meant to say he doesn't have his own article in The Canadian Encyclopedia, that's not really a metric by which we can determine notability. The Canadian Encyclopedia is missing articles on plenty of notable people, for example, Roger Stuart Bacon and Russell MacLellan, two former Premiers of Nova Scotia who are very much notable.   I'm not totally confident yet that he is notable, but I would say that the entry I linked above is a good GNG-worthy source. I tend to think by virtue of the fact that we're still talking about him 70 years after he died that there's likely more out there... Topic seems to fail WP:NPROF. The article content is sourced to minor event announcements or the subject himself. Authored publications are listed but this just shows that publications existed, not that the publications are especially influential or otherwise notable. Some cited sources are only vaguely identified or do not discuss the topic in significant detail. The article is basically an orphan article, linked only to obvious lists (people with his surname, people from the place where he lived, and people who died in the month he died). The obituary has no byline and was probably written by family members. The obituary mentions no honors – just that he held some teaching roles and published about 40 publications – none of which (or even the entire collection of which) are identified as influential. Most of his works were published by Antilles Press, which seems to be his own self-publishing company – both Google and Bing headline the search result for Antilles Press as "Antilles Press – books written mostly by Arnold R. Highfield". Some other of his works were published by The Virgin Islands Humanities Council, which appears to be a local nonprofit that has published only a small number of publications. The Honors section of the article about him cites only some vaguely identified offline source that I can't find any trace of ("UVISION News").   Those seem pretty minor. The first one is a local puff piece. It ends with saying that a book can be found at one particular book shop or "can also be ordered online by emailing shirley@antillespress.vi." As per above, Antilles Press is his own self-publishing outfit, and "Shirley" is his wife's name. Another is a comment, not about something he wrote himself, but about something he co-translated. Another says that something he co-edited was "a fine collection". Co-editing a collection is not the sort of thing we generally consider sufficiently notable to justify a biography. If "there just doesn't seem to be much critical notice", then it is not our job to correct that situation. Not seeing significant coverage for this BLP of a poet. The current version is sourced to the biography in one of his books and to an "about the contributors" section in Poetry Salzburg Review. I have carried out WP:BEFORE; there is a review on a blog which looks like it was originally by Irene Koronas in the magazine of the Ibbetson Street Press; this might be a reasonable source, but we'd need more to satisfy notability. The only other coverage I have found is another contributor biography in a poetry newsletter. He won first prize in the Scottish International Open Poetry Competition, but I cannot find that this is a notable award. I don't think he meets WP:NPOET. No obvious redirect target. • Delete I know it is hard for poets to reach notability... and in this case, he doesn't reach it. Moonraker, unfortunately none of your additions really help. Most are primary (his books, or a mere listing of his book's title (in Orbis)), others are not independent or are insignificant (his name and his wife's in a family book, a non-published obit). One problem I find, Lamona, is that there are so many Robert Pringles. I agree of course that the source for his marriage doesn't go to notability. But articles about him in literary journals do. Right now we do not have independent sources for his win; a bio listing him as a contributor to a publication that states that he won is not considered independent (he probably provided it to the publisher). I haven't found reviews of his poems or books of poetry, nor articles about him in literary journals. The Nebo source gets me frustrating results in G-Books but it appears to be listing him as author, possibly with an author bio. That won't count as an independent source about him. I agree that it's hard to wade through the Robert Pringles, especially as one with that name seems to have been a significant Scottish poet. I found a mention at the Scots Language Centre, here: Way back in 1973 he [Sam Gilliland] was one of the founding organisers of the Scottish International Open Poetry Competition. This competition was connected with MacDiarmid and always had a strong Scots poetry section. It ran till 2005. There seems to have been a Scottish National Open Poetry Competition too. I wondered if it was related to the magazine Scottish International Review, which we don't have an article on, but looks notable, but don't think it was. There is more about the prize here: Mr. Gilliland founded the Ayrshire Writers and Artists Society, the umbrella organization for the now defunct Scottish International Open Poetry Competition launched by Henry Mair.   I don't understand "the burden of proof is on the nomination." But I think it's quite clear that GNG is not met. There are no significant independent sources about him - and the additions do not change that. (See me comment above.) If you see appropriate sources, please point them out.
