The Sicilian Provinces (li pruvinci siciliani) and their municipalities (li soi cumuna)
Municipalities/Cumuna
There are over 600 Sicilian municipalities, most of which are currently stubs or have not even been started yet.
Much of what follows is still in the original Italian or Sicilian. Many titles might stay the same, others will definitely need to be anglicised. Many blue links have been left because they all need to be looked at, be they stubs or not. As articles begin to look complete, they can be deleted from this project page.
- Main article: History of Sicily (now being voted on in Wikipedia:Article Improvement Drive
- Articles about the history of Sicily (see here) - check thoroughly for red links and add them here
- See also scn:Category:Storia siciliana and it:Categoria:Storia della Sicilia
- Biographies of the Sicilian monarchs, such as Simon, Count of Sicily, Roger I of Sicily, William I of Sicily, William II of Sicily, Tancred of Sicily, Roger III of Sicily, William III of Sicily ... for more names see List of monarchs of Naples and Sicily
- From scn.wiki: scn:Munarchi di Sicilia, scn:Custanza di Sicilia, scn:Enzu di Sardegna, scn:Manfredi di Sicilia; scn:Category:Re siciliani
- The main monarchs have been done reasonably well (although all should be checked), the lesser monarchs probably need a bit more info. Then there are stacks of lesser nobles that have figured in the history of Sicily. Find them and add their names here! Adelaide, Regent of Sicily, Joan of England, Queen consort of Sicily, Queen Sibylla of Sicily, Constance of Aragon, Regent of Sicily, Margaret of Austria, Yolanda of Brienne, Isabella of England, King Frederick II and his lover Bianca Lancia, Manfred the bastard child of Frederick and Bianca who seems to have been recognised as legitimate by Frederick; Charles of Anjou who purchased the crown from Pope Urban IV, and who started the Angevin line of succession, but who lost the Island of Sicily in the Sicilian Vespers and was thereafter restricted to that part of the Kingdom on the mainland, from Rome south including the entire Italian peninsula.
Cites, towns and settlements from antiquity (Li citati e paiseddi antichi)
