Wikipedia talk:AutoWikiBrowser/General fixes

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In this edit, AWB's general fixes appear to have moved an intended interwiki link that was missing its initial colon. Since we haven't used this style of link to indicate article names in other languages for many years, AWB should either fix this sort of link by adding a colon or ignore it. It should not move the link to the end of the page. – Jonesey95 (talk) 16:45, 26 April 2025 (UTC)

I have just cleaned up dozens of cases where AWB did this to links of the form MOS:EXAMPLE, thinking they were interwiki links to ISO 639:mos (example). I think overall the "fix" is doing more harm than good, and should be disabled. jlwoodwa (talk) 20:04, 14 September 2025 (UTC)

WikiProjectBannerShell fixes - updates per T358963

I took an item about removing |blp=no off the list of WikiProjectBannerShell fixes because it seems to have been removed by Phabricator task T358963 in version 6.4.0.0. See this discussion for some context. However, I don't feel super confident that the current list accurately reflects what AWB is currently doing - if anyone more familiar with AWB and/or Phabricator wants to review the list and make sure it lines up with AWB's behavior after T358963 and any other recent changes, that might be helpful. Where are these stored?

I'm a bit lost, but where are the ACTUAL find/replaces stored? This page list the genfixes but not the actually regular expressions that are performed... Where is that page located? I cannot find it... Zackmann (Talk to me/What I been doing) 19:57, 4 April 2026 (UTC)

@Zackmann08: The general fixes are handled by C++ program code stored in SourceForge. Any regular expressions needed by the general fixes are part of that program code, so any updates have to be requested via Phabricator. -- John of Reading (talk) 06:46, 5 April 2026 (UTC)
Gotcha!! Thank you much! Zackmann (Talk to me/What I been doing) 06:51, 5 April 2026 (UTC)
