Article needed for Agaricus deardoffendis
As the title says - the article for the more well known European species A. moelleri currently contains a brief mention of A. praeclaresquamosus being assigned to the North American counterpart. However, praeclaresquamosus currently redirects to the moelleri article, and to the best of my knowledge that name is now considered defunct, having been split into two separate species: A. buckmackadooi, which someone HAS created an article for, and A. deardoffendis which they have not. I would recommend at least creating a stub for now for future expansion, and praeclaresquamosus should probably redirect to buckmacadooi (unless a stub mentioning the split is appropriate). Perhaps something contributors on the buckmacadooi article could consider?
The article on buckmacadooi also refers to a third species - A. berryessae, which I have no knowledge of.
I'm happy to help if I can, but while I'm an experienced forager of 25+ years I'm no mycologist, and as a brand spanking new editor it wouldn't be appropriate for me to attempt it myself. If there's a better place to post this request please let me know. ChompyTheGogoat (talk) 12:29, 29 December 2025 (UTC)
