Recognized content
Can anyone figure out what prevented List of accolades received by Loki (TV series) from being added to the main page featured lists section on Wikipedia:WikiProject Film/Marvel Cinematic Universe task force/Recognized content? I compared the talk page to the WandaVision accolades and everything seems fine I think, so I'm not sure what else could have prevented it. -- ZooBlazer 21:04, 14 February 2026 (UTC)
- Not sure, maybe see if it is added next week? We can manually add it if needed. - adamstom97 (talk) 21:18, 14 February 2026 (UTC)
- I see it there and was there back in October 2025, the last version of the article before the bot ran today. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 21:37, 14 February 2026 (UTC)
- Zoo is asking about the "Main page featured lists" section. - adamstom97 (talk) 21:38, 14 February 2026 (UTC)
- The bot should have added it today since it was on the main page on the 9th. If we add it manually, the bot will just remove it next week if there is something that needs fixed somewhere that caused the bot not to add it. -- ZooBlazer 22:16, 14 February 2026 (UTC)
- Wikipedia:WikiProject Film/Marvel Cinematic Universe task force/Recognized content was updated on February 22 by JL Bot with the Loki accolades FL, and Wikipedia:WikiProject_Film/Marvel_Cinematic_Universe_task_force#Recognized_content shows it for me. Have you WP:PURGEd your cache Zoo? - Favre1fan93 (talk) 22:36, 14 February 2026 (UTC)
- That diff shows it being added to the "Featured lists" section but not "Main page featured lists". I have purged and I also do not see it in the second section. - adamstom97 (talk) 23:11, 14 February 2026 (UTC)
- The only thing it added today was the Phase 2 GT since I finally noticed the WikiProjects for it never got updated when it passed -- ZooBlazer 23:27, 14 February 2026 (UTC)
- Ah, you meant Wikipedia:WikiProject Film/Marvel Cinematic Universe task force/Recognized content#Main page featured lists. Would be easier to follow if you linked that section directly in any comment above :) Yeah, I don't see it there either. Strange. Probably worth asking the bot operator. Gonnym (talk) 09:40, 15 February 2026 (UTC)
- Same aha moment for me. The Loki list is in the correct category that the bot should look at for adding. Agree, maybe the bot operator knows more. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 17:30, 15 February 2026 (UTC)
- Well, the bot just added it now. Weird it took a bit to recognize it. — Trailblazer101🔥 (discuss · contribs) 19:04, 15 February 2026 (UTC)
- I contacted the bot owner. Sounds like it was due to an unusually long caching issue. -- ZooBlazer 19:21, 15 February 2026 (UTC)
- Ah, I see. That kind of makes sense. Glad it worked out. — Trailblazer101🔥 (discuss · contribs) 19:26, 15 February 2026 (UTC)

archive.today links should be replaced as soon as possible
Per WP:NOMOREARCHIVETODAY links to archive.today should be replaced with other archive sites. If you maintain GA, FA, or FL articles, please make sure those links get replaced as soon as possible. See Wikipedia:Archive.today guidance for more information. Gonnym (talk) 10:31, 22 February 2026 (UTC)
- I'm going to be rummaging through several of our articles to find working archive replacements. I have noticed running Wayback again on some refs, such as NYT, does work in full, while others like Bloomberg have proven more difficult to get a stable archive alternative of. When an archive replacement is not attainable, I think directly quoting the relevant contents cited (via the archive.today capture without linking to it) and/or adding a third-party source covering the material would be the best course of action moving forward. It is unfortunate yet necessary to keep things verifiable. — Trailblazer101🔥 (discuss · contribs) 21:38, 22 February 2026 (UTC)
- Marvel Cinematic Universe and List of Marvel Cinematic Universe films appear on Wikipedia:Archive.today guidance/high traffic pages report so would be good to see if we can find replacement for those usages. Gonnym (talk) 14:03, 9 March 2026 (UTC)
Home media and streaming data
I'm a bit concerned that we have been WP:INDISCRIMINATE with the amount of home media and streaming data that is creeping into MCU articles, see recent examples at Captain America: Brave New World#Home media, Thunderbolts*#Home media, and The Fantastic Four: First Steps#Home media. This seems like it is WP:UNDUE focus on stats that are not all that noteworthy. Just because we have access to all that data does not mean we should be putting that much emphasis on it all. Does anyone else share my concerns? And where do we think we should be drawing the line? It has always seemed wrong to me that we have any viewership data in the release section since it should usually go in the reception section, like we did at Black Widow (2021 film)#Streaming viewership. But I'm not sure that primarily theatrical films should have such a section by default. Hoping to get some other opinions on this so we can start working out a path forward. - It definitely seems overkill and most of it likely isn't notable or worth including. However, any home media views/sales should be in the home media section, not reception, per MOS:FILMHOMEMEDIA:
If available, provide information on the film's release on home media, such as release dates, revenues, and other appropriate third-party coverage.
(bolding mine for relevant part). All's to say, yes these films should have the home media section, but some recent Phase Four/Five releases have likely excessive viewership/sales info that can be cut down or outright removed. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 15:16, 4 March 2026 (UTC) - Hello,
- I think it can be useful to include information about a film's home media performance, such as streaming viewership or physical media sales, since it helps show how a film performs after its theatrical run, especially at a time when box office alone is not always the only indicator of success. That said, I understand the concern about including too much data. If the consensus is that this information is not very useful or gives undue weight to minor statistics, I am happy to stop adding it or to limit it more carefully.
- As for the length of some sections, I completely agree that they are currently too detailed. For instance, in the case of Thunderbolts, instead of going through multiple weekly or monthly figures, it would probably have been better to just summarize the year-end DVD and Blu-ray sales for 2025. That is 100% on me.
- Thank you for the feedback, and I look forward to hearing your responses. Higher Further Faster (talk) 07:53, 6 March 2026 (UTC)
