Lists of any new multi-headed monsters
Hey Myths, i've been searching for new many-headed beasts for years and I've still haven't seen any new things from social media. what new types are there besides Hydra, Tiamat, yamata, segsag and bael? JJMikey (talk) 04:40, 19 January 2026 (UTC)
- Hi JJMikey. I'm not entirely sure what you mean by "new types", but if you're searching for mythological creatures with multiple heads, I'd recommend looking at the pages in Category:Mythical many-headed creatures. – Michael Aurel (talk) 07:06, 19 January 2026 (UTC)
- I'd already looked that up and I know them, I'm just looking for new types of named multi-headed creatures ok. ~2026-40153-5 (talk) 15:06, 19 January 2026 (UTC)

Infobox for legendary characters
I've just reverted edits to Cu Chulainn and Fionn mac Cumhaill which changed the infobox to say where they are/were "venerated". Neither of them are religious figures, so that term isn't appropriate. But then I noticed that the infobox was "deity". I had a look at a few comparable figures from other mythologies, like Achilles and Theseus from Greece, who also use the "deity" infobox, Beowulf (hero) and Robin Hood, who use "character", Sigurd and King Arthur, who don't have an infobox, and Romulus, who uses "royalty". The "character" infobox is designed for fiction. Seems to me there's a need for an infobox for legendary characters, who aren't deities or royalty, and aren't exactly fiction either. Is there anyone here with experience creating infoboxes who could advise me? --Nicknack009 (talk) 17:26, 10 March 2026 (UTC)
- @Nicknack009: I agree that there's a gap in the coverage of our infobox templates. Something like "Template:Mythical figure" might be an appropriate name for such an infobox. As to how one creates such a template, my best guess is that one finds a similar existing template (Template:Infobox deity might be the closest one in this case), copies all the code, and then tinkers with the colours, parameters, etc. as they see fit. If you think you'd like help with the technical side of things, asking at WP:VPT might not be a bad idea. Your bigger concern would be figuring out how to spread the template across all the relevant articles; I'd be happy to help out with that. – Michael Aurel (talk) 10:57, 12 March 2026 (UTC)
