Criteria

I think in addition to disambig pages, exceptions must include surname pages and given name pages, at least for bio articles, because these are useless for interconnecting the information and basicvally are specific type of disambig pages. --Altenmann >talk 21:53, 13 August 2025 (UTC)

Also, WP:SIA articles are essentially "lightweight" disambig pages and definitely must be excluded. --Altenmann >talk 21:57, 13 August 2025 (UTC)

What is the point of including collapsed navboxes links as incoming links? There are many articles that you can only get to them if you are on a computer (because navboxes only are displayed in desktop web browsers). ReyHahn (talk) 10:56, 23 November 2025 (UTC)

I guess that's a gray zone since since they're not list in either do or don't sections at Wikipedia:Orphan#Criteria. There is a practical issue here as the Mediawiki system doesn't provide a reliable means to distinguish links from templates from other links in an article. ~Kvng (talk) 14:42, 26 November 2025 (UTC)

Possibly increase of orphans

This is a pre-emptive notification that should Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Index of Algeria-related articles leads to a result of redirect or delete, there maybe a sudden increase of orphaned articles due to articles having only a single link from an index. This is not to canvass votes but as a heads-up of a sudden increase of orphaned articles and the reason why is it so. ~ JASWE (talk) 01:29, 3 December 2025 (UTC)
