Polish Figure Skating Championships

Hello... I have been working over the past several months to complete the results tables at Polish Figure Skating Championships with the gold/silver/bronze medalists and host cities for all championships since their beginning. I have pored through numerous newspaper archives hosted at various sites and am left with just two years remaining incomplete: 1991 and 1992. If anyone can help me out, I'd appreciate it. Are archive copies of Przegląd Sportowy from 1990–92 available online anywhere? The 1992 championships were held circa December 20–23, 1991; so I'm guessing the 1991 championships would have been held during the same timeframe in 1990. Thank you to anyone who might be able to help! Bgsu98 (Talk) 20:21, 29 November 2025 (UTC)

@Bgsu98 The archive copies may be available. Some editors in Poland have access to Polish libraries. I recommend asking at pl:Wikipedia:GIEŁDA, Polish version of WP:RX. Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 04:16, 22 January 2026 (UTC)

I want to do a en.wikipedia.org and pl.wikipedia.org collaboration

en:Aly Khan and pl:Maciej Mielżyński (powstaniec śląski) have related content

there is no pl:Aly Khan or en:Maciej Mielżyński (powstaniec śląski)

I need to find a en.wikipedian who speaks Polish, to find a pl.wikipedian who understands Polish nobility honorifics and culture and history to clarify pl:Maciej Mielżyński (powstaniec śląski), Sybilla Szczeniowska Sorondo (Sybilla Emilia hr. Mielżyńska h. Nowina), Marek Szczeniowski, and Aly Khan

@Piñanana It's hard to understand what you want, the text on pl wiki is just a random collection of links. Articles can of course be translated, although neither the Polish nor English one are of very good quality (they both have unreferenced parts). Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 04:21, 22 January 2026 (UTC)
@Piñanana How are those two articles related? What makes them have "similar content"? Artemis Andromeda (talk) 13:23, 7 March 2026 (UTC)

I've added a source, and pinged the OP at the talk page. Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 04:22, 22 January 2026 (UTC)

Deletion of Anna Kurek (resistance member)?

Hi, recently, I saw someone created this article Anna Kurek (resistance member). However, I do not think it's notable. I tried to improve it a bit, but still, couldn't find a lot to add to it. As of now, it basicly just mentions that she fought in the Warsaw Uprising, and received the Order of Polonia Restituta. Which, on its own, I do not belive would make her notable. About the sources, right now, you can find a lot of news articles talking about her recent passing, but they really just mention her death, and summaries her service in the war as a nurse. The only bit notable thing about her service, might be the fact that she was 15 at the time of the uprising. What do you think? Should this be kept or deleted? Artemis Andromeda (talk) 23:08, 11 January 2026 (UTC)

@Artemis Andromeda Borderline, sources seem to be mostly obituaries. I see there's an AfD, I'll comment there Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 04:24, 22 January 2026 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Księga Tajemnicza. Prolog

Notice

The article Księga Tajemnicza. Prolog has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unreferenced for almost 14 years. No other language has a reliably sourced article from which to translate: the Polish article is sourced to blogs and Discogs. Makes wildly dubious claims.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion based on established criteria.

If the proposed deletion has already been carried out, you may request undeletion of the article at any time. Bearian (talk) 16:06, 26 January 2026 (UTC)

@Bearian, I can't tell what exactly you think should be deleted. Księga Tajemnicza. Prolog is nothing but a redirect to Kaliber_44#Discography. Can you please explain? Thanks, Kiwipete (talk) 03:25, 27 January 2026 (UTC)
Yes Kiwipete, it was redirected shortly after my proposal. Bearian (talk) 03:29, 27 January 2026 (UTC)

Renaming Highways in Poland

Hi. I belive Highways in Poland should be renamed to "List of motorways in Poland", or "Motorways in Poland". Poland-related articles should use British variant of English, and as such, use term motorway and not highway. In fact, the text of the article in question does just that. Also, I think it should be called "List of" since articles for other countries do that, and... well becouse it's a list. Artemis Andromeda (talk) 09:21, 31 January 2026 (UTC)

Yes I agree—I use British English in every Poland-related article I write. Why don't you request a move? Fortek67 (talk) 13:17, 31 January 2026 (UTC)

Help me with this picture

Would I be able to upload this picture onto Wikimedia Commons? The author is probably unknown, because of how long ago it was (1891). It was uploaded onto polska-org. Fortek67 (talk) 15:48, 31 January 2026 (UTC)

Input needed on lead for politician BLP

Wider input with arguments about what should or shouldn't be in the lead of an article about a politician is needed at Talk:Przemysław Czarnek#Politician's POVs in lead? Boud (talk) 10:03, 10 February 2026 (UTC)

Input needed about if Poland is a parlimentary or semi-presidential republic

The discussion is here but involves potential changes in multiple pages: Talk:Poland#Poland_-_system_of_government.
I need more input as there is a dispute. --wojtekpolska1013 [talk page] 18:51, 15 February 2026 (UTC)

I would like someone to contribute to the discussion if possible. Would it also be appropriate to create a RfC? --wojtekpolska1013 [talk page] 23:14, 16 February 2026 (UTC)

Can't edit participant section?

Hello! I'm trying to join this project, but can't seem to find the option to edit the participants section. I've been able to edit other projects' pages today. Sorenzs (talk) 17:33, 21 February 2026 (UTC)

According to this, your account needs to be at least 4 days old to be able to edit this semi-protected page. Kiwipete (talk) 17:48, 21 February 2026 (UTC)
I see, thank you! Sorenzs (talk) 17:59, 21 February 2026 (UTC)

Category:Civic Platform politicians

Since Civic Platform was disbanded, and replaced by Civic Coalition (party), something should be done with the category Category:Civic Platform politicians. Since, there are numerous people who were members of the Civic Platform in the past, but are no longer members or no longer alive, I think she should keep the category, as to represent former party, and create new category "Civic Coalition members" for current members of the new party. Alternatively, we could create category "Civic Platform and Civic Coalition members" or just rename current category to "Civic Coalition members", if we assume the current situation is nothing more than name rebranding, and both parties are basically the same. What do you think? Also, since we are on the topic, I notices, that English Wikipedia misses categories for members of several parties in the Sejm, which were created this decade, such as Polish Coalition or Poland 2050. Input on Andrzej Młodziejowski

Hello all; I've been reworking the above article over the past few months and managed to work it up to a considerable size. I wanted to reach out to see if it would be considered to have reached the B-class criteria for WPPOLAND, or if further work would be needed to reach it. Hwqaksd (talk) 15:10, 2 March 2026 (UTC)

Where the hell is Szwekni?

I came across this article, on a Polish speed skater. He was born in 1902 in Szwekni, Latvia (at the time it was in Poland). Now, I assume Szwekni was the Polish name of the village or town in Latvia, so the name has now changed, which I can't find today, after searching everywhere. So, any ways of finding this village or town? Fortek67 (talk) 21:27, 5 March 2026 (UTC)

@Fortek67 Hi. It should actually say "Szweknia". But asside from that, I couldn't find anything. The Olympic Games data bases lists his place of birth in Polish as well, and add notes that its Latvian name and location are unknown, and that "it could be misspelled or mislocated" (see ). Assuming it's a real place, it's possible, it was a small Polish faming hamlet (folwark), with no more than few houses, which would be absorbed into another village and forgotten about by now. Or that it was a name used by either by Polish population, or just Jucewicz himself, for a random village in Latvia, which was not officially written down anywhere. In both cases, I doubt identification is possible. Having said that, I think you should try going to Wikiproject Latvia, and asking if anyone there would be able to identify it. Artemis Andromeda (talk) 13:01, 7 March 2026 (UTC)
@Fortek67 One more thing I was able to find is, that Russian Wikipedia translates it as "Швекня". And while it could be just transliteration of Polish, considering that at the time Latvia was part of the Russian Empire, it's possible that Szweknia/Shveknya was actually Russian name for this village. Idk if that helps though. Artemis Andromeda (talk) 13:05, 7 March 2026 (UTC)
@Artemis Andromeda, thank you for your interest, and correction of the place name to Szweknia. Like you said, it is or probably was most likely a folwark, or something like a Przysiółek (hamlet) (which is what I think as well). I doubt that only Jucewicz used that name, though I believe that the settlement now is most likely non-existent, under a different name, or so small that it isn't on the map. For example, I once wrote an article on Dębówek, Gozdnica. It is so small (only a few houses), that there is almost no coverage on it on the internet, not even on the Polish Wikipedia. I only found out about (and the only real online coverage it ever got) when the settlement was incorporated into the nearby town leading in the change of the voivodeship borders.
Anyways, maybe I might ask on WikiProject Latvia. Once again thanks for your help! Fortek67 (talk) 15:29, 8 March 2026 (UTC)
