Lists of horse-drawn vehicles

I'm interested in input on this. There's a list of horse-drawn carts in the Cart article, and several very long lists in Horse-drawn vehicles (HDV). I'm thinking we should make HDV the master list for all vehicles. We could split the section on "Passenger vehicles" into two-wheel and four-wheel, and then use {{Excerpt}} to dynamically copy the two-wheeled passenger vehicles into Cart § Horse-drawn carts. We could do the same for "Load carrying vehicles".

Does anyone have any thoughts on how best to organize and present the information? Pinging Avocado.   ▶ I am Grorp ◀ 02:46, 20 December 2025 (UTC)

Could the contents/structure of {{Horse-drawn carriages}} be a starting point for thinking about it?
We could also consider a list article instead of listing everything within each article. -- Avocado (talk) 03:34, 20 December 2025 (UTC)
HDV already is a list-article, whether it's formally tagged as one, or titled as one, or neither.
We could use the {{Horse-drawn carriages}} template at least as a guide to ensuring each one is entered into HDV somewhere. (Note: Navigation templates do not show on mobile devices, so 50% of readers will never see that navbar.) For inclusion in the lists, I would expect each entry to start with a bluelink, even if it's a redirect into another article. Redlinks might be okay if we are planning on making at least a stub or redirect-to-a-paragraph in the near future.
I decided to nix the idea of using {{Excerpt}}. Coach (carriage) already has a section explaining types and some names, so it doesn't need a separate section to excerpt from HDV. Carriage doesn't have a list of vehicles, and probably doesn't need one; it already has a list of carriage museums, which probably should be split out to its own list-article. Wagon is already split into type groupings, so it won't need an excerpt. For Cart, I suggest we select a few representative items to list, add a {{see also}} to the HDV section, and leave the bulk in HDV.
I moved some things around in HDV that helped clarify for me the organization of the article. I think we should make the two current subsections into four, which might look like:
  • Passenger vehicles
    • Two‑wheeled
    • Four‑wheeled
  • Load‑carrying vehicles
    • Two‑wheeled
    • Four‑wheeled
Vehicles that come in both two and four wheeled versions can be in both lists (there are only a few anyway). Travois aren't vehicles and should be moved to 'other'. Sleighs are vehicles.
What do you think?   ▶ I am Grorp ◀ 05:44, 20 December 2025 (UTC)

Women in Red year-long focus on women in sport

Throughout the whole of 2026, Women in red is focusing on women in sport. This provides opportunities for creating biographies of notable women in a wide variety of sports, including equestrianism. Cor de la Bryere article needs cleanup

The article Cor de la Bryere reads like a promo piece, uses puffery, and is lacking in reliable sources. Most of the citations are links to bios of this or that stallion (offspring of the article subject). Most of the content was added by 2009. I think it's time for a cleanup; either adding proper reliable sources, or cutting some of the "advertising".   ▶ I am Grorp ◀ 23:13, 28 February 2026 (UTC)

I tossed the progeny list. From there, anyone else can clean up the rest. Montanabw(talk) 21:30, 3 March 2026 (UTC)
