Special handling
This section needs a rewrite. For one, it comes across as being written ages ago, discussing an issue that apparently was inflamed... 18 years ago? For two, it fails to explain what this issue was, or rather, what careful handling is expected of the reader. Clicking the ArbCom link does not help. Maybe this should simply be deleted as obsolete? Backlog of over 57000 items?
This page reads as if the project is doing good work, saying things like "some editors like to fix the oldest issues first."
The oldest issues are over 15 years old! There are tens of thousands of articles in the backlog!
This landing page really needs to address the elephant in the room: that current efforts are hopelessly inadequate.
You will never recruit new members with the current appearance of your Project, since it comes off as a hopelessly thankless task.
