Hungarian Automated Telescope Network

Le projet HATNet (abréviation de l'anglais Hungarian Automated Telescope Network) est un réseau de six petits télescopes de 11 cm à grand champ entièrement automatisés « HAT ». L'objectif scientifique du projet est de détecter et de caractériser des exoplanètes, et également de trouver et de suivre des étoiles variables brillantes. Le réseau est maintenu par le Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics.

L'acronyme HAT signifie Hungarian-made Automated Telescope, car il a été développé par un petit groupe de Hongrois qui se rencontrèrent par le biais de l'Association hongroise d'astronomie en 1999. Les premiers développements de HAT-1 ont fait partie de projets d'études de Gáspár Bakos, sous la direction du Dr Géza Kovács. Ont aussi joué un rôle important, József Lázár, István Papp et Pál Sári.

Découvertes

Une rangée en vert indique que la planète orbite dans un système d'étoiles binaire.
