Der französische Techno-Produzent Terence Fixmer bekam 2002 die Aufgabe Nitzer-Ebb-Songs zu remixen. Aus diesem Kontakt entstand zwischen Douglas McCarthy, der Stimme von Nitzer Ebb und Fixmer das Musikprojekt Fixmer/McCarthy.
