The Splendour of Fear ist die zweite Langspielplatte der englischen Band Felt. Das Album wurde 1983 aufgenommen und erschien im Februar 1984 bei Cherry Red Records. Das Album enthält überwiegend Instrumentalstücke mit langen, an klassischer Musik orientierten Gitarrenläufen, und bei nur bei zwei Stücken gibt es Gesangspassagen.

Für das Plattencover wurde das Poster des Films Chelsea Girls (1966, Regie Andy Warhol und Paul Morrissey) verwendet, welches Alan Aldridge entworfen hatte. Lawrence behauptet, er habe das Bild in einem Buch aus einer Leihbibliothek entdeckt und nicht gewusst, von wem genau es stamme. Alan Aldridge hat sich über die unerlaubte Verwendung nie beschwert.
