Due to England's participation in the 1995 World Cup, the FA barred National Division sides from competing in the League Cup.[1] This meant reigning champions Arsenal could not defend their trophy.[2] Instead, only teams in the Northern and Southern divisions could take part.
The tournament was won by Wimbledon, who beat Villa Aztecs 2–0 in the final.[3][4]
