2023 Sailing World Championships – Men's Formula Kite

Toni Vodišek of Slovenia was the reigning world champion, having won the 2022 Formula Kite World Championships in Cagliari,^[4] while Axel Mazella of France had won the Paris 2024 Test Event the month before.^[5] In the Sailing World Cup, Max Maeder of Singapore had won the Trofeo Princesa Sofia,^[6] while Mazella had won the Semaine Olympique Française^[7] and the Allianz Regatta.^[8]

Maeder and Vodišek both opened with three race wins in different fleets.^[9] No wind limited the possibility to sail on 18 August.^[10]

From the opening series results, Vodišek and Maeder qualified directly to the final; Vodišek carrying two wins forward and Maeder carrying one.^[10] 16-year-old Maeder won the championship title by winning the medal series ahead of Vodišek.^[11]

With the final results, national quotas were awarded Singapore, Slovenia, Austria, Great Britain, Cyprus, China, Croatia and Brazil.^[12]
