The semi-finals are scheduled to be held on 13 August 2026, at 12:10 in the afternoon.[13]
In the 800m semi-final at the European Championships, Swiss athlete Audrey Werro fell on the final bend after her foot was unintentionally caught by French runner Anaïs Bourgoin’s arm. Werro’s fall then caused Lithuania’s Gabija Galvydytė to fall as well. Both athletes got back up and finished the race, but outside the qualifying places. After reviewing the incident, officials ruled that both had been victims of unintentional interference under Technical Rule 17.1.1. As a result, Werro and Galvydytė were both reinstated and advanced to the final.[14]
