Four Freshmen and 5 Trombones

Four Freshmen and 5 Trombones is an album by the American vocal group the Four Freshmen.^[1] Released on February 8, 1956,^[3] it reached number six on the charts and charted for over eight months.^[2] It was the first album bought by Brian Wilson, who would be greatly influenced by the Four Freshmen when he formed the Beach Boys.^[4][5] Later, the Four Freshmen were acclaimed as "the most innovative and imitated jazz vocal quartet ever to grace vinyl". Straddling vocal jazz and pop music, they were inducted into the Vocal Group Jazz Hall of Fame in 2001.^[2]
