Abel Atahualpa Martínez Durán (born 21 April 1972) is a Dominican politician, educator, and lawyer. He is a member of the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD). In October 2023, he won his party's nomination for the 2024 Dominican presidential election[4] and chose Zoraíma Cuello as his running mate.[5] He then lost the general election to incumbent president Luis Abinader, and former president Leonel Fernández.
