Amata Municipality (Latvian: Amatas novads) was a municipality in Vidzeme, Latvia, that existed from 2000 to 2021. In its final form, it comprised the parishes of Amata, Drabeši, Nītaure, Skujene and Zaube.

Administrative history
The municipality was formed in 2000 through the merger of Amata Parish and Drabeši Parish. Following Latvia's 2009 administrative reform, it was enlarged by the addition of Nītaure, Skujene and Zaube parishes.[3] The administrative centre was located in the "Ausmas" homestead near Drabeši.
On 1 July 2021, Amata Municipality ceased to exist under Latvia's administrative-territorial reform. Its five constituent parishes became part of the enlarged Cēsis Municipality.[4]
Geography
Amata Municipality covered 745.94 km².[5] The territory took its name from the Amata River, which flowed through the municipality, while the Gauja also crossed its northern part. Much of the area consisted of forests, agricultural land and meadows, interspersed with ravines and hills.[3] The Amata valley contains sandstone and dolomite outcrops and a number of nature trails.[6]
