BMJ Nutrition, Prevention & Health is a peer-reviewed open-access medical journal published by the BMJ Publishing Group in association with the NNEdPro Global Institute for Food, Nutrition and Health. It was established in 2018 and covers the role of nutrition and lifestyle factors in the health of individuals and populations, with a focus on disease prevention and health promotion. The journal was established in 2018 and intended to fill a perceived gap in peer-reviewed publication of research translating nutrition science into clinical practice and public health policy.
Article types accepted include original research, systematic reviews, brief reports, and correspondence.[1]
The founding editor-in-chief was Martin Kohlmeier (University of North Carolina).[2] He held the role until 2026, when he transitioned to an honorary Emeritus and Consulting Editor position. He was succeeded by Kathy Martyn and Jimmy Louis.[3]
