Shımbay district

Shimbay district (Karakalpak: Шымбай районы, Shımbay rayonı) is a district of the Republic of Karakalpakstan. The capital lies at the city Shimbay.^[1] In 2019, part of its territory was given to the re-established Bozataw district.^[2] Its area is 1,440 km² (560 sq mi)^[3] and it had 114,000 inhabitants in 2022.^[4]
