List of Jackie Chan Adventures characters

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This is a list of characters from the animated television series Jackie Chan Adventures.

Protagonists

Main cast

  • Jackie Chan (voiced by James Sie in animation; portrayed by himself in live-action) The primary protagonist of the series. The fictionalized version for each episode's story is defined as a talented archaeologist who lives in San Francisco, and who maintains the same level of martial art expertise as the real-life actor. A common element in the character's portrayal in the series is a constant notion of feeling pain in his hands when defending himself, utilization of a variety of different objects and elements when in combat, and being placed in awkward situations he is forced to escape from, drawn from inspiration by films starring the actor. In live-action sequences, the real-life Jackie Chan faces various questions issued by young fans, primarily children, about his life, career, and insight on Chinese culture.
  • Jade Chan (voiced by Stacie Chan) is Jackie's initially eleven-year-old niece from Hong Kong, who is adventurously reckless and accompanies him on his adventures. She is the second protagonist in the series, and is the sidekick equivalent to Jackie's adventures, with the comedic element of the series often seeing her being frequently placed somewhere safe or secure and thus made to miss out on the action moments her uncle partakes in. Lucy Liu voices a future version of the character in the episode "J2: Rise of the Dragons".
  • Uncle Chan (voiced by Sab Shimono) is Jackie's uncle and Jade's great-uncle, who is a wise sage and researcher of magic. He speaks with a Cantonese-accented drawl and often refers to himself in the third person. When casting magic, he uses the Cantonese phrase "Yu Mo Gui Gwai Fai Di Zao", which translates to "Evil demons and malevolent spirits, be gone!". His real name is unknown, as he is referred to as "Uncle" by almost everyone in the series, including himself, regardless of their actual relation. In the "Ask Jackie" segment, Chan stated that Uncle is half based on his father and half based on his manager.
  • Tohru (voiced by Noah Nelson) is a large Japanese man who is skilled in wrestling-like combat. He is an enforcer for the Dark Hand in the first season before reforming and becoming an ally of the Chans as well as Uncle's apprentice. In the "Ask Jackie" segment, Chan stated that Tohru is based on numerous stunt men he worked with.

After Shendu is turned back into a statue, the Chans recreate the Talismans.
