History

Diriá was established on 3 September 1976 by Decreto Ejecutivo 6369-G. It was segregated from Bolsón.[2]

Geography

Diriá has an area of 66.26 km2 (25.58 sq mi)[3] and an elevation of 40 metres.[1]

Villages

The administrative center of the district is the village of Santa Bárbara.

Other villages in the district are Calle Vieja, Coyolar, Diría, Guaitil, Polvazal, Sequeira, Talolinguita, and Trompillal.
