Femtanyl (stylized in all lowercase) are a Canadian digital hardcore[1] band based in Toronto[2] consisting of founding member and lead singer Noelle Stockwood[† 1][a] and multi-instrumentalist Juno Callender, who later joined in 2025.[3][† 2] As well as being classified as digital hardcore music, they have been labeled as breakcore.[4] Their music is popular in online spaces, especially among the furry fandom.[2][5] They take inspiration from a wide variety of sources including groups like Nine Inch Nails, Throbbing Gristle, The Prodigy, and Drain Gang, as well as modern electronic dance music and pop music.[3]

Career
Femtanyl was originally a solo act by Stockwood in 2023. Early tracks such as "Katamari" and "Girl Hell 1999" gained her enough popularity to sign a distribution deal with release.global, part of the Artist Partner Group.[3] She released her debut EP, Chaser, in September of the same year. Writing for Pitchfork, Kieran Press-Reynolds described the EP as "a relentless hamster wheel of energy."[5] It amassed over 40 million streams in its first year on streaming services.[6]
Stockwood performed her first show in January 2024, which sold out in two hours. On August 15, Stockwood was introduced to Callender by her manager to perform as a live drummer.[3] By July 2024, they had sold out multiple shows with over 650 tickets each.[7] Stockwood released her sophomore EP, Reactor, in November. It featured American rapper Danny Brown on the track "M3 n M1n3". In 2025, Callender was officially made a member of Femtanyl.[2] Callender described her work as "electronic music with an emphasis on physicality, aggression and kinetics".[3]
In November 2025, Femtanyl appeared on previous collaborator Danny Brown's album Stardust, featuring on the track "ILoveMyLife".[2] The band, alongside American musician Underscores, were supporting acts for Brown's tour in support of the album.[8] Femtanyl is slated to perform at the Primavera Sound 26 festival in Barcelona, Spain.[9] They released their debut album Man Bites Dog on February 13, 2026.[3]
Stockwood is a transgender woman.[2] The cover art of Femtanyl's music often depicts a cat-like mascot named Token that frequently appears disfigured or injured.[5]
