Minister of Social Affairs

In 2025, she was appointed as Minister of Social Affairs in the cabinet of Prime Minister Nawaf Salam. It was declared that her main focus is growing the AMAN program, which gives cash help to Lebanon’s poorest families. In early 2025, she said the government would increase its support from $10 million to $50 million by 2026. This is to make the program more stable and less dependent on foreign aid.[5][6]

Personal life

Hanin's mother was killed in the 2020 explosion in Beirut.[7]
