Kaushik has roots in both Carnatic music and playback singing. Alongside his musical pursuits, he has worked professionally in the banking sector. He is also well known in Singapore's Tamil entertainment scene through his appearance on *Yaar Antha Star*, a Tamil reality singing competition produced by Mediacorp.
- Re-inKarnation
Re-inKarnation was founded by Kaushik in 2024 after he experimented with combining Carnatic ragas and popular film songs during a temple concert in Singapore. The concept emerged from his observation that many Indian film songs share melodic structures and ragas with classical Carnatic compositions.
Kaushik described the format as being similar to a playlist or DJ set, but organised through the framework of classical ragas.
Since its inception, Re-inKarnation has composed a debut original indie song called Marakka featuring **Sai Vignesh**, fame of **Kantara**.
- Performances and recognition
Re-inKarnation made its debut at Singapore's **Kalaa Utsavam – Indian Festival of Arts** in 2024. The group later performed at several high-profile events, including the Indian Community Appreciation Dinner attended by Singapore Senior Minister **Lee Hsien Loong** in January 2025.
In March 2025, the band's Singapore concert sold out, helping establish its reputation for high-energy, raga-based mashup performances.
In May 2025, Re-inKarnation expanded internationally with its debut performance in Chennai, India, at The Music Academy. The concert featured collaborations with Indian musicians including Ashish Venkateswaran, Yazhini, and Narayanan Ravishankar.
In September 2025, Re-inKarnation collaborated with award-winning Veena Maestro **Rajhesh Vaidhya** at PGP Hall in Singapore.
In November 2025, Re-inKarnation was part of the **Kalaa Utsavam – Indian Festival of Arts** where they performed multilingual filmy hits at the Outdoor Theatre.
Kaushik has also featured in the track of Saaral Mazhaiya by **Stephen Zachiariah** along with many other independent songs.
- Musical style
Kaushik's pioneering of Re-inKarnation is characterized by the fusion of Carnatic music theory and mainstream film music. The group's performances are built around ragas such as Kalyani and other classical frameworks, while incorporating compositions by film composers including **Ilaiyaraaja**, **A. R. Rahman**, and **Anirudh Ravichander**, **Vidyasagar** and more many famous composers.
The project seeks to demonstrate that ragas transcend traditional classical performance settings and can be expressed through a wide range of instruments and contemporary musical styles.
