Early life
Khagendra Sunar was born in Nepalgunj, Nepal, and later settled in Kathmandu.
Social and political career
Sunar gained national attention after leading a 45-day peaceful protest at Maitighar Mandala, demanding constitutional rights and guaranteed representation for Dalits. His campaign "Dalit Lai Khai" ("Rights for Dalits") reached all seven provinces of Nepal, mobilizing thousands for Dalit rights and social justice.
In 2025, Sunar was nominated for the position of Minister of Labour, Employment and Social Security in the Nepal government. However, his name was removed from the ministerial list following public controversy and criticism.
