It was aired on NBC in June 11, 2021[1] and released on September 2022 for the DVD release of Minions: The Rise of Gru as a mini-movie with Post Modern Minion.[2]
Plot
The mini-movie begins with four Minions playing a D&D game in Gru’s basement. A small Bob-like Minion, Val, comes in for Laundry day when he noticed his buddies playing. Eager to join, the game master, an Otto-sized minion, Arnie, cast him the role as the Bard. He then starts the game for the Minions to go on a quest to get a crown at a castle crawling with classic fantasy monsters. Val struggles to try and level up by defeating them but each of his buddies are getting in his way. Jonny, a tall minion who was cast as an elf archer, shoots goblins to level up his bow, Alan, a one-eyed minion who was cast as beast warrior and killing lizard monsters with his hammer, and Hank, another one-eyed minion who was cast as a wizard while killing yeti monsters with his wand. When reaching to the castle and defeating more monsters to level up, Jonny, Alan, and Hank were powerless by a large dragon monster with tentacles. Val discovers his weapon being his guitar that when tuned to the right cords, he managed to control the movement of the monster by his music. Playing Hocus Pocus by Focus, Val managed to slay the final boss, level up to the max, and win the crown of the game.
