Payal, according to Nepal’s former administrative division, was a Village Development Committee (VDC) located in the Seti Zone of the Far-Western Development Region, in Achham District. According to the 11th National Census of 2011 (2068 BS), its population was 4,994, consisting of 2,208 males and 2,786 females, with a total of 1,054 households. It now falls under Chaurpati Rural Municipality (Ward No. 4) in Sudurpashchim Province.

Administration
Payal was previously a Village Development Committee in the Seti Zone of the Far-Western Development Region. Following the 2015 administrative restructuring, it was incorporated into Chaurpati Rural Municipality as Ward No. 4.
