Sam Maris University (SMU) is a private university located in Supare Akoko, Ondo State, Nigeria. The university's main campus and lecture theaters are situated there. The National Universities Commission (NUC) has accredited the university to offer programs in the Faculties: of Law, Nursing Sciences and Allied Sciences, Social Sciences and Management Sciences, and Computer and Environmental Sciences. The university has matriculated its first set of students.

The university was established on 15 May 2023. The university's motto is 'Liberty, Truth, and Knowledge'. The university is a private university in the Akoko region.[2]
History
A Senior Advocate of Nigeria who hails from Supare-Akoko, Tomi Ologunorisa, is the founder of Sam Maris University, and serves as the chairman of the Board of Trustees and the Visitor of the institution.[3]
Campus
The university campus is located in Etioro-Afaa Road in Supare-Akoko, Akoko South West Local Government Area. In 2024, A former Ondo State Deputy Governor Ali Olanusi, who is an indigene of Supare-Akoko, announced plans to donate a 150-room hostel to the university campus in memory of his late wife.[4][5]

Sam Maris University offers 22 undergraduate courses and awards degrees. The university has been accredited by the National Universities Commission (NUC) following approval by the Federal Executive Council. Additionally, Sam Maris University has been issued a provisional license to issues bachelor's degrees through its undergraduate programs in the:
- Faculty of Law
- Faculty of Social Sciences and Management Sciences
- Faculty of Nursing Sciences and Allied Health Sciences
- Faculty of Computing & Environmental Sciences
On 29 June 2023, the university rolled out its first admission processes, and on 28 February 2025, matriculated its first 270 students.[10][11][12]
