Draft:Viridian Forest

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Viridian Forest is a fictional forest in the Pokémon series. It is home to several common Bug type Pokémon such as Caterpie and Weedle and on occasion Pikachu can be found there.

Appearances

Viridian Forest made its first appearance in Pokémon Red and Blue as a winding maze of trees and grass where several items and Pokémon could be encountered. There were many "Bug Catchers" to battle as you made your way through the forest as well as fending off Bug Pokémon.

When it returned in Pokémon Gold and Silver (which is set three years after the original games) the forest was no longer on the map. It was now just tiny trees, a smaller maze, and some less "spooky" music, although the map for the Viridian Forest is found in the rom, with a Pokémon Center near the end.

Viridian Forest was redrawn and reappeared in Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen, the remakes of Pokémon Red and Green. The Bug Catchers had been given names in this version and the music redone.
