Thomas Healy is an American entrepreneur, engineer, and inventor whose career has drawn attention across several fields. While a student at Carnegie Mellon University, he co-founded HeadSmart Labs, whose research on football helmet safety, and later on football air pressure during the NFL’s Deflategate controversy, received national media coverage in 2014 and 2015.In 2015, Healy founded Hyliion Holdings Corp.. When the company went public through a SPAC merger in October 2020, he briefly became one of the youngest self-made billionaires in the United States, as well as the youngest CEO of a publicly traded U.S. company at the time.
