Ectasia (/ɛkˈtʒə/), also called ectasis (/ˈɛktəsɪs/), is dilation or distention of a hollow or tubular structure,[1] either normal or pathophysiologic but usually the latter (except in atelectasis, where absence of ectasis is the problem).
