The Embassy of Pakistan in Tehran is the diplomatic mission of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the Islamic Republic of Iran. It is located in Tehran, the capital of Iran.

The embassy provides diplomatic and consular services, including passport and travel-document services, NADRA services, document attestation and visa services. It also provides consular assistance to Pakistani nationals in Iran.[1]
History
Pakistan and Iran established diplomatic relations shortly after Pakistan's independence in 1947. Iran was the first country to recognise Pakistan, on 22 August 1947. Pakistan subsequently established a diplomatic mission in Tehran, and Raja Ghazanfar Ali served as Pakistan's ambassador to Iran from 1948 to 1952.[2][3]
The embassy has since served as Pakistan's principal diplomatic mission in Iran. Its activities have developed alongside Pakistan–Iran relations, which include political, economic, cultural and security cooperation. Pakistan was also among the first countries to recognise the Islamic Republic of Iran following the 1979 Iranian Revolution.[3][4]
In addition to the embassy in Tehran, Pakistan maintains a Consulate-General in Mashhad and a consulate in Zahedan. These consular missions provide consular services and assistance to Pakistani nationals in their respective areas.[5]
On 11 May 2010, then Pakistan's ambassador to Iran, Mohammad Bax Abbasi, was injured in an attack in Tehran.[6] Iranian police arrested the suspected assailant, a 21-year-old Afghan national, at the scene. While initial reports described the incident as an attempted assassination, Iranian investigators later stated that the suspect claimed his motive was robbery following an altercation with the ambassador. The incident was the second attack involving a Pakistani diplomatic mission in Tehran, following the 2009 attack on the Embassy of Pakistan.[7][8][9]
On 26 March 2026, areas near the embassy and the residence of Pakistan's ambassador were reportedly struck during the 2026 Iran war. Pakistani diplomats were reported to be safe following the strikes.[10][11]
On 8 April 2026, Pakistan brokered a ceasefire between Iran and the United States amidst the 2026 Iran war.[12] Pakistan hosted the Islamabad Talks between the two countries to stabilize the ceasefire.[13]
