From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This is a sample from a recording of "Anytime", a song written in 1921, featured on an album by Buddy Emmons entitled Steel Guitar Jazz on Mercury Records SR 60843, recorded in 1963. The copyright belongs to Mercury Records or the composer, Herbert Lawson. This is a low-resolution clip of less than 30 seconds from a much longer recording, used to identify the steel guitar sound, and Emmons' playing of the instrument. The articles in which it is used is entitled Buddy Emmons. The sample of Emmons' playing is not replaceable by free content; any other sample from the same recording would also be copyrighted, and any version that is not true to the original would be inadequate for identification or commentary. Use of the sample in the article is understood to be compatible with Wikipedia non-free content policy and fair use under United States copyright law as described above. Use of this sample outside of Wikipedia may be subject to other terms. I believe that this use of the excerpt is in good faith, and that its inclusion enhances the quality of the article, without reducing the commercial value of the recording from which it was drawn.--Eagledj (talk) 21:55, 12 July 2017 (UTC)
