John Bell Williams Airport (ICAO: KJVW, FAA LID: JVW, formerly M16) is a public use airport in Hinds County, Mississippi, United States.[1] It is located in Bolton, Mississippi,[2] three nautical miles (6 km) northeast of the center of Raymond, Mississippi,[1] The airport is owned by Hinds Community College.[1][2]

History

During World War II, Hinds County Airport was used as an auxiliary training airfield supporting the Army pilot training school at Jackson Army Air Base. It was turned over to civil use in April 1944. [5]
